Today just got so irritated by this guy who was playing chipmunk songs on his mp3 player in the bus. I mean, you know la, the chipmunk voice can sound quite cute but after a while, it's realli realli irritating!!!!! And they dun bother to use earphones to listen to their music. They just play it in public as if everyone likes the music they are listening to.
And I HATE IT when early in the morning, I used to take train from Bishan all the way to Boon Lay to ntu. Then wanna sleep, then some human jukebox will enter the train and play those techno music early in the morning at 7 plus when everyone is taking short naps in the train. Wah buay tahan!!!!
SO INCONSIDERATE! Plug in your earphones la!

I really hope one day those people will be enlighten and realize how much they have contributed to the noise pollution in public transport... I was annoyed by this kind of situation too... Complain all I wanted but nothing gonna help... All I can do is get my own music player, stuck the earphone in my ears and silence all background noise...

Hmmm.....speaking on Human Jukebox point on view.....if that fella is blasting the music loudly then i think you should confront him....if he is playing at a optimum level whereby he is listening then i think is okay....cause using earpiece has its demerit points....it can do damage to the ear.....I myself also listen to music sometimes i plug into my speaker when there are very few ppl in bus but MRT i definitely plug in to earpiece and usually i adjust the volume to quite low until i can listen.....cause i prefer to use speaker instead of bringing damage to my ear....and my music has no techno.....or stupid songs. just once i ran into a uncle carrying a portable RADIO. yea.. traditional black black big big one and playing FM using it on a SBS bus... its kinda funny.
human jukebox are annoying but pretty common.

It doesn't matter which you are using because the resulting intensity of the waveform on your ear will be the same. As such, by using earphones, you are only screwing your own ear. With speakers, you are also affecting the others.
In fact, earphones don't help everytime. I once met some NS guy in the train heading towards city area. The train was underground, and so the background noise was quite loud. Still, I could hear the songs that were playing from his mp3 easily, right down to the accompaniment. And he was using earphones with silicon buds, standing next to the door while I at the 2nd pole to one side of the door. | |
