SINGAPORE: The Health Sciences Authority has suspended the tobacco retail licence of a 7-Eleven outlet at Ngee Ann City Plaza for a period of six months from September 1.
The move was taken after employees there have repeatedly sold tobacco products to underaged customers.
The latest incident was on July 6.
The outlet was also slapped with a compounded fine of S$2,000.
HSA reminded all retailers that it is an offence to sell tobacco products to underaged youths.
Those who flout the law will be fined up to S$5,000 for the first conviction. Their tobacco retail licences may also be suspended or revoked. - CNA/ac
