no matter what i do... i cant seems to do well in my combine science!!!

grrrr quite pissed by that... to make things worst... my sister graduated with a master in science in the university of glasgow... bth... veri stressful...

can any1 teach me how to study better?!?!:cry3:

hmm i got one method la.. i used to teach my tuition kids n dey r e quite hopeless kind.. i ask them go read e TYS den c wat kinda questions dey alw come out.. coz huh e pattern of questions dey come out every yr huh is alw similar one.. so jiayou ah..

thers no way you can force physics n chem thingy into your head.

U need to practice, practice and practice.. juz like maths.. u got 10 yrs series? or topical assessment. it may help. These things cannot memorise.. its more of understanding the concept and the reasoning.

more you attempt the question the better. its ok if 1st few questions u dun understand. try doing it over and over again. dun try copy answers again and again, but try rephrase them to the extend pri 3 student can understands..

thats how i got A1 for my A Maths, E Maths, Physics and Chemistry. wat pulls down my o-level scores are Literature (E8) and History (E8).. my RAM is small compared to my understanding capacity

chem physic math all need understanding not mugging... just have to do lots of TYS and past years school exam papers and u wil lbe fine.

no formula de.
except mole.
find ways to memorise e reactivity series.
and organic chem n prac de notes.

physic is mostly formula.
like maths lor.
get the formula in ur head.
prac TYS.
need a bit of understanding too!

maybe this is affecting you alot in some ways.

i am not very good myself in sciences, and though i took pure physics and chem. they were average only (B3 and 4).

what kept my interest running were the practicals. guess u can say i learn better while doing and yep i never listened to much in normal classes but i learn everything while doing practicals.

guess u can say i ace practicals like nothing and do the theory parts based on my practicals. have fun while at it, science can be interesting in alot of ways and not many people get to play with chemicals at later stages of their lives. (remember to follow safety rules though haha)

the ability to dream is a great privilege. never give it up

basically wat i did was..

1) read one chapter as if u r going to teach that chapter to ur friend
2) try to recall the impt facts without referring to the textbk
3) practise TYS on that topic
4) move on to next chapter and so on...

for chemistry, the answer is given actually.
its your choice to see if you're alert enough to spot it.

for physics, try to memorise the important formular and use the TYS and try out questions, cos mostly people tend to us the wrong formula on the wrong question.

these are my ways to score an A for Comb science.
other people have their own way of getting it.

waha . for this right, you just gotta practice alot of TYS .

redo and redo . and you'll be fine . if there's any doubts, ASK A TEACHER . ((: dont feel pai seh .

and do pay more attention on MCQ questions too. its best to secure 35-40 over 40 marks for MCQ. thats what my chem teacher said last year. although it consist of little %. but it affects alot .

thats basically how i got a1 for comb sci . TEEHEE .
