restless, there's no real need to register a business when you are selling self-made products online. However, if you have intentions to do this long term, establish a steady pool of customers, want to establish a reputation and be a trust-worthy vendor, then I will advise you to register as a business.

I have seen a few cases of these online businesses register as businesses, such as a fashion e-commerce portal, or a home-made dessert company using websites as the main marketing and sales channel.

What kind of products do you intend to sell? If it's electronics, health products etc, you will need the relevant licenses

my friend kind of came up wif a crap idea...but i tink it may be worth a try since the internet has lots of crappy stuffs that actually sells..

anyway, he's gg to have a big headache how to make his idea come to reality coz he noes nothing and got no links. well, tats his problem. i'm more into learning how to go about setting up a business and finding out the links when u have none.

its for pure fun and learning process...so guess i dont really have to register ba haha. so the next thing to look at probably will be web hosting service..any comments?

hmm.. restless, wat links are we talking about here. Do you mean the idea have lots of loopholes and lots of areas doesn't sound right or connected?

As for webhosting service, consider subscribing to a local webhost who can offer you a reasonable rate, provide the services & features you need and at the same time you feel comfortable with & can trust.

Before subscribing a hosting plan and engaging a webhost, you have to have an idea how your webpages looks like, what features/functions your website has, any flash animations etc. And don't forget, you will have to subscribe to a web domain, which the web domain name is of your choice and subject to availability.

cuteptz, I didn't mention anything about my friend's hosting service, only mentioning webhosting in general. :biggrin4: Just offering some thoughts here. Decision's up to him & his friend.

For experimenting, you can use blogs first. It's free, programmable and able to implement payment gateways. Alternatively, you use free hosting sites, but there will be banners and pop-up ads, with limited webspace & bandwidth.

Before you get a webhost, be sure to decide what you want first...
Visualise what you want, get it on paper first then get the webhost that can realise your needs.

Another thing is...don't be too anxious to start.
Think carefully and draw up a business before embarking on it.
