in past, when i was working, i limit my expenses to nt more than $10 a day.. den when im studying, whenever my mother gives me pocket money, daily, i will keep a portion in a box.. for example, she gives me 8 bucks, i will bring 6 bucks to sch.. den i'll have no way in spending the other 2 dollars =) eat less outside also.. try to eat abit more at home, so you wont have to eat out..

I've been doing this liao. Friends told me saying staying at home the electricity bill will go up but i told them back that if i go out, i'll spend more than my monthly PUB bill. :biggrin4:

Saving is not equal to Income - Expense.

I always put aside my saving the first day i get my pay.
That way, then I will save up money..if Income - Expense always turn up zero or negative ~~hehe

dun sms too much, try cut down on tibits, dun buy unnecessay things,dun watch movie alot dun haha if u really cut down expenses

Haha.. Don't cut expenses... just earn more money and put the extra to be your savings. so, you still enjoy your current lifestyle.

For me, I try to reduce my electricity bills by switching off all the power (except the fridge ,of course) of the electrical appliances after use. I also try to cut down on the use of the microwave by reheating food on the stove.:biggrin4:

I try to spend using ATM or credit card (but paid in full when bill comes). Then use my account balance to maintain I don't over-spend and have a target savings level. I glance at it a few times a month to check if I am in danger of splurging. I can also identify stupid purchases or bad habits. But I believe in "rewarding" oneself once in a while.

Hey that is a good one. I should give it a try even if I dun gaigai often. For tired equal go to bed early equal less time with computers which in turn equal less electricity used.

Some suggestions:

1. Don't go out on weekends. If need to go out, bring only $10 and don't bring your ATM and credit card.

2. Don't buy drinks when u have you lunch. Drink plain water instead.

3. For guys, can cut botak when u go for haircut. Save on shampoo and don't need to go for haircut often.

I don't follow the above suggestions though. :biggrin4:

Hmm .. i think saving and cuttinng cost
doesnt mean you have to cut urself off from the things
you like or enjoy doing .
Maybe for girls just dont shop too often ,
dont do manicures and slurge as much ???
and guys dont drink or hang out too much too ??
if we cut down , we still can save

Cut cost? Every time you buy something, think twice again before buying. This will somehow limit you in buying.:biggrin4: OR instead of cut cost, why don't think of improve your financial status instead? Many used to say 'Don't worry but Be Happy' How?
