Let's talk about per month, just for your own entertainment, doesn't include
- house/car loans
- fuel, parking, fines etc
- no company funded entertainment
- household (electricity, water etc) or coffee money for parents
- phone bills, internet etc.

So that leaves
- makan outside
- movies, party, ktv etc
- booze, ciggies, chasing the dragon (kidding) etc.

For me, probably between $600 - $800 p.m. Mostly from makaning cuz I'm a glutton and I always pay for gf, and also cuz my job requires me to makan with colleagues at my own expense, frequently at expensive places. Company culture lah.

Desperately want to cut down on spending, end up with very little every month.

I hit 600-700 per month. I think that's a decent amount since I save the rest. Too little also means no life.

Why not focus on churning more revenue?

Personal I try to keep to just 200 to 300 a month but lately haiz... spending much much more than that.

djchris: yeah more revenue would be good. Can't do much in the current job tho', I pretty much take what the company gives me. With my background and experience (or lack of, haha) I won't be able to get anything that equals my current salary elsewhere. So won't be looking for another job. Company frowns on moonlighting, so that's no good either. The only way is to make my money work for itself. And one needs money to do that. bit of a catch22 i guess, haha. Guess that's how the rich get richer. Anyway, saw your blog, will take some time over the next few days to have a proper read.

wah kriscell can keep to just 200-300 p.m. I know i cannot reach that standard, but will strive......

haha true, you have no idea how tempted I am to do a little sideline. Got the time and interest to jump on the property bandwagon. But cannot ah, news spreads like wildfire here, such is the company culture. And I can't afford to do anything remotely detrimental to my position until I'm a little more lao jiao.

So best thing is to cut down expenses at the moment, i guess. Any other ideas?

I definately not a student la. But mine is definately higher than $800. That's why i ask for a breakdown, maybe somebody didn't include what i include. These don't include handphone bills and stuffs right?
