er personal tots on a picanto. since my cousin driving. well my advice nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sure regret cuz when u are driving and then u realise y is the picanto always last moving off from the red light, u will get sian even the bus 1,2 gear also win picanto. go up slope with 2ppl and aircon on in car = crawling go out walk faster. sorry no offence to any picanto owners. then u will spend $ to boost engine power,, blah blah then waste $.

anyway regrding topic, better to have ard 2.5k monthly gross b4 thinking about car. plus spare $100-200 a month. ERP, Parking, then confirm sure buy accessories for car. i have witness no one i know has been able to resist keeping the car at 100% stock.

Actually it would be better to have at least 2.5k take home pay (i.e. gross pay of $3k and upwards) cos you will need to spend up to 1.5k on the car. Plus there are always unexpected expenses like idiots scratching your car or dents from car doors or unexpected accidents.

yeah. And also if u see other people's car so shiny, u will get jealous and join others in getting those cleaning agent. So probably most of your salary will be spent in cleaning your car too.

OMG thanks so much for your good advice. i hav been tinking of gtg a picanto due to budget constraints. i tink at $40k, no much good range of cars available rite? i wan 2 get a Honda or other Toyota Jap brands, but they are way out of range for me. any other recommendations with this kinda budget? possible?

get a OPC car.... -17k eaislly under 40k just put $20 bucks everyday u drive... no dough more ex... but u pay when u use....

First determine why you need the car, key word is "need" and not "want"... then determine the kind of car and your budget.

Sometimes, you're better off taking cabs and public transport.

For us, it was a case of need. Daily to and fro from AMK to CCK, plus weekend trips from AMK to ECP. Daily taxi fare from AMK to CCK including peak hour and surcharges can be about 25 bucks. So daily at least $50, per month at least $1.2k. so we're better off just paying for the car.

Ya lor. Still need to do maintenance. Engine Oil, Auto gearbox, air filter. Must check tire pressure also. Never maintain later scare high FC.. Zz. Now still scare petrol keep up.

$20 everyday add up is not worth. cfm pay more than a normal plate de. If want to drive at those timing also sian. Must wait till 7pm then sat want go sls in the morning also cannot. Must wait till 3.

i mean this for ppl who have little budget yet wan to get a gd car.... as i said previously its definally more ex than having a normal plate but if this is the only option if u dont have enough $$$$ of cos u can choose nt to buy the car..

No point getting a car if you dun really need it, it will cost at least 10k a year just to own and maintain it. Think of the money you'll save over 10 years even if you just save half the amount.

Theoretically you are right, but even if you dun own a car, 10 yrs later you still dun have that 100k.

technically... correct mahz.... ur installment.... ur petrol ur parking ur erp etc... add up abt 1k per mth... 12 mth its 12k... already den ur servicing... antoher maybe 2-3k so actually 1yr is abt 15k u spend on a car...
