how long do you have to wait ?

say you sent your resume, how long do you have to wait before knowing that your job application is rejected?

normally, would Hr personnel start contacting the shortlisted candidates for an interview after the application deadline and the hr has gone through all of the job applications or once the Hr received your application?

Basically, you should get a call if you're selected and the time frame can be from 1 day to 3 days becos if the company finds you suitable they will want to hire you fast. However, there are times when you might get calls after a week or even after two weeks. Chances are you're the second choice. That means someone has been hired but he/she resigned or quit after a few days. The company will then go back to their files of applicants and pick the next best one lor.

You can call the company after two days to check if they are still interested in hiring you. At least you know your stand and can go for other interviews.

if in doubt, you can always call the company and check on the status..

Honestly, you wouldn't know whether you are rejected or not.
HR people in MNCs can take as long as a month or months to shortlist someone.

Just continue sending resumes and applications to other potential companies until they call you up.

i takes abt 2 weeks like dat
mine also take abt 1week plus
but now after my 2nd interview... just waiting for time to fly then i go down n sign my appointment letter

For me, it take me long time in waiting response for job application. Once get called for interview, still need go through few more time interview for different job to get job. After interview they will inform you in short time, if still pending for certain time..just forget about it..

depends on each coy practice and the urgency for the position.

i would say normally takes abt 1 week.

but for big MNC, stat board and govt bodies, it may take up to 1 mth.
