As above. How you know ar? Is there such a thing as body mass index (BMI) like us?

Coz I find my bf's poor doggy too...."muscular". Can even see its rib cage liao. But its legs are really muscles...The dog always go for walk in the morning and evening daily. May looks fit but how do I know whether the dog is underweight ? :confused2:

Feel the ribs area.

A dog should have a THIN layer of fats under the skin, and should be able to feel the ribs under that thin layer.

The top view of the dog should be slender, wif a slight "curve" to the sides. For a dog wif heavy coat, throw it into the water and look.

For underweight dogs, the ribs is PROTUDING. Den again, it'll depend alot on the breed as well, as some dogs look underweight by nature. Such as the Sighthounds (wif little fur) - Whippet, Italian Greyhound, Greyhound, the mongrels and so on so forth.
