Default Home Based Business

Hi guys,

I've been racking my brains for a good home based business idea because I believe that will be the most enjoyable way of earning income. Your income will not base on a fixed salary, no peak hour squeeze, no high overhead cost because no shop rental,PHWAHHH!!!! That's life.

I tried those internet business opportunities before. In my opinion, no different from MLM. It's a people teaching people to get rich business. You will get to see "Gurus" pop out from no where telling you that your internet business is not succeeding & they will teach you the way out provided you pay them a crazy sum of your blood & sweat money. Hehe...I also wrote about MLM in another thread. Looks like I ever kena conned in all sorts of ways before.:biggrin4:

I've seen families doing catering services right from their own home, but that's abit siong. Imagine cleaning up the kitchen after all the cooking. I also seen people doing funeral coordination services as a home based business. I thought of doing renovation coordination services but this kang tao mainly sub by interior designers already. I also thought of doing a mini bus business fetching school kids, workers & tourists. Guys & gals, you have any ideas? Let's share. No idea is a stupid idea.

Maybe you would like to think about, what do you like to do?
What's your passion or hobby?

For me, I love to do web development and e-marketing. Hence web hosting and web development comes naturally.

No matter which business you're into, you're either spending TIME or MONEY, if things sound too good to be true then you incurring higher RISK.

Personally I'm into Internet business, although much lower risk and capital, but it's not for everyone, simply because of a few reasons:

1. Poor time management
2. Don't know what to do (No one to guide)
3. Treat it as a hobby and not a business (Coz too cheap to startup)
4. Expect money to fall down from the sky without taking action

Prob like what djchris said, see if you can find a hobby and turn it into cash OR work with someone and leverage on each other's strength...

Cheers!

When someone asked, what is the best business to get into....its shows that he does not know much about business. If one does not know much about business, then obviously no matter what kind of business he goes into he is bound to fail.

For me, home-based business is skills intensified. if you have no skill or experience in the business, all the ideas in the world wont help. So re-examine yourself,

Do you have the passion?
Do you have the skills?

Personally, i would start a coaching/consulting business...:biggrin4:

Plus treating this as your business too seriously. If it is just a hobby, then it is just hobby and you are merely doing this for your own passion or interest only. So we should treat this as hobby + business so we can make money from these business.

If you think I have helped you or contributed to this in some way, do add my reputation. Appreciated it. Thanks

I did home typist before...

All don't pay one.. You just copy and paste ad, and get paid only when someone sign up under you..

You have to meet the quota by pasting several ads in many forums, advertisements.. Often quota cannot be met..

It is better to join programmes which has endorsement of Singapore members who had shown they had been paid..

If you have joined in those home-based typing program whether they require you to pay for membership access fees or not, forget about it as they are useless. It is not worth because inside you will need to pay for your Google Adwords to advertise the affiliate product but this will violate Google's Terms as Google don't allow the affiliate link. And I think it is not easy to make money so it is not worth wasting your money.

As for admin stuff to do typing, they are ok as long as you are paid by the local company to do work at home. I really can't trust those home-based typing program which ask you to copy and paste advertisement but to use Google Adwords.

If you think I have helped you or contributed to this in some way, do add my reputation. Appreciated it. Thanks

Yes, I used to join Pay first program..

One time fee - US$50..

Now, I learnt the lesson when I realised it is impossible to meet quota...

Now, I am happy that there is a local group here who has shown the way..

Hand-made jewellery is another good home biz to startup.

To me is time consuming..but a good skill to pick up, can make a jewellery for your girlfriend or wife on special occassion.

Not many guys do that..

Hey guys,

For me, I would like to treat anything I do, that deals with money, seriously like a real business, be it small or big.

And ultimately, I always believe the best way to make money is to provide real services or really great value-addedness to your product/service.

Why is friendster so successful? Why is youtube so succesful?
-They provide FREE services (unfortunately, or rather, people always go for freebies)
-They provide EXCELLENT services (no questions here right? haha)

Additionally, they all start off with ideas that are simple BUT unique, and they totally understood the NEEDS of the market. But you guys might be wondering how they actually make money...Let me take Friendster for example
-Google Adsense. Every single page has those. Don't know what it is, visit http://adsense.google.com and take a look. Even this forum has too. It's everywhere.
-Selling advertising space and partnering with other big time merchants and businesses. Well, this one's pretty obvious. With so many members, merchants are bound to see it as a great marketing tool.
-Paid membership.

Well, this business is perfect example that demonstrates why every business should establish a need or demand before the product itself.

Pls share your thoughts
