Anybody been to HCMC before? I'm planning to go F&E, can anybody tell me is it easy to roam around there? Any good and reasonable hotels to recommend?

Yeps been there once for a sch trip but not F&E.
Hotels are pretty easy to find, but I'm not too sure if it's tt easy to roam about cos traffic there is pretty heavy.

The saddest thing to do is to let go of the person you love to another and have to act happy when you are crying inside

ok i stayed at hotel Vien Dong. Can't remember the rates, but it was pretty reasonable, and the hotel was clean and comfy. You can check it out on the intenet.

The hotel is also well located, plenty of food and shopping all ard. Also, plenty of tours and day trips from agencies just down the road, so planning is easy.

Being there twice, Hotel u can find a lot at District 1, mostly forigner stay there. There check in is special, U need to hang over your passport to the hotel staff, otherwise u wouldn't get the room, funny rule. Roam around the city..hmmm do u have any vietnamese friend with you? If not...it very diffcult to communicate, Cos most of them dun speak english. District 5 & 6 are mainly vietnamese chinese. They speak cantonese well. Lastly u can get taxi easily, starting fare is a bout SGD $1.40..CHEAP.
1 good advice, dun anyhow eat roadside food. Cos my two trip there anyhow eat, and anyhow diarrhea...twice...hahaha....It a good place to holiday....enjoy your trip.

Not that far, as I remember. We walked to visit all those places. Vien Dong is also about 5-10min walk from this market (can't remember the name liao, try to get for you later). It's huge, plenty of shopping within, and even a night market. I wasn't all that interested as you can tell haha, it was more of a massage and chill out trip for me.

That depend, cos normally the owner see foreigner, they will jerk up the price...remember to bargain....if they still dun want to reduce....walk away....normally they will agree to the price when they see you walk away....example if the item cost $50, cut the price to half....Place to shop cheap noramally is at the Bin Than market (dun know whether spell wrongly or not) food is cheap, bargain like hell...hehehehe....Try to get your taxi from the hotel reception, they will help you to on call (best part is there's no on call fee) as you dont want the taxi driver to con you.

Just saw ads that lionair have free seat to Ho Chi Minh, but need to pay the airport tax & admin about $80plus SGD dollar for 1 way....cheap, if you haven't book the airticket can try Lionair....new plane from Indo broad at T1....better than Jetstar or Tiger airway. Cos my 1st trip was with Lionair...better services as there wasn't any bugget airway to Saigon in the pass....thinking of drop by there for a long weekend ....hehehehe....sorry for long winded.
