Hi coach,
I got a few question to ask. Im coming down on this sat training and before that i want to get a ball for myself cause im playing spinner now and sucks at that so i would like to learn hook. So what ball would u recommend. I hear most of the guyz here are using storm but how heavy the ball should i buy. Im 172m tall and weight abt 80kg.
Another question is, when i bowl my left thigh feel pain after about 4 games. Do u happen to know the causes.Thanx

well, im not in their team but just some er advice? haha

well if ure 172 and arnd 80 kg, i suggest u can get a 13 or 14lb ball.. left thigh is prob u had an injury before, or prob it isn strong enuf to support u.. er yeah.. err guide me if im wrong or not accurate or smth

im 162m tall & weight is 59kg, my new ball is 15lb nvs 14lb maxin.

13lb also can unless you hand power high, so try 14lb or 15lb... you can try buy 2nd hand ball, if you scare your hand pain.

the rest you ask coach better... just give some suggest

If you are a right hand bowler and your left thigh feel pain after few games, most likely is because you did not do any stretching exercise before you bowl. Warming up exercise should be done before the start of the game.

Dear bowler,

Weight of the ball will not cause your thigh to hurt when you are bowling. Like what one of the them said, maybe its due to you not doing warm ups.

I cannot cfm this but most prob is due to your finishing position. is your knees bent 45 degrees or 90 degrees? if you are at 90 degrees, you are putting the weight on your thigh and you are at 80kg. Lets say you divide your upper and lower body weight in 1/2.

Top = 40kg Bottom = 40kg

If you are finishing and most of your weight is balance thru your thighs, youve got 40 kilos holding with your thigh. So to summerise this, you may have a bad finishing posture.

for mi its always back to basics...any polyester ball will do it for the 1st time since everybody (or rather almost everybody unless your name is norm duke who uses a gravity shift to pick up his pin 10 spare)needs a polyester to use it as a spare ball

before deciding on the wieght,
my main question would be any injuries to the wrist,back,knee,shoulder
if not based on your wieght 15lb si u are getting a slightly high end ball and 14lbs if u are buying a polyester ball

its up to each individual preference as in what ball brand to use cos we have bowlers who are into storm,
hammer,
brunswick ,
track,
lane1,
etc

thigh pain,wich part of it is pain?
the front,mid or back near the pelvic bone joint there?
diff parts of pain can be caused by diff reasons so we wont be able to give u an exact answer on why the pain is there,will need to determine if your posture and such is right before making any comment

hmmm.. we got the same ht and i'm slightly heavier by two kilos.. i started 13pounds,1mth later i change 14 pound another mth later i got 15pound... so i suggest u go for 14pound. hee hee... if not like me spend alot of $$$!!!
