any1 out there with great ideas on how to get rid of lizards?

me saw one crawling on kitchen stove... its driving me crazy... ends up spending half a day, cleaning the stove as well as all utensil.... :cry3: :freakedout: :disgust2:

The only way to get rid of lizards is to get rid of them. First, you might try attacking their food supply. In what areas of your property are you noticing the most lizard activity? Work on controlling the insect population with bug sprays and other bug repellents, and this should greatly decrease the lizards you’re seeing.

Independent creatures, even taking away their food may not make all the lizards go away. Unfortunately, one of the only way to get rid of lizards is to dispose of them in nature’s way. Common house cats are natural predators of lizards (because cats can be vicious and lizards are just the right size). You may want to let a cat prowl the area where lizards have been spotted. These natural feline hunters will do a lot more to get rid of lizards than you ever could.

If cats aren’t your thing, however, you don’t want to get a cat just to get rid of lizards. Then, you have to worry about getting rid of the cat. You can try using trap to get rid of lizards. Glue traps usually work the best. You want to try to eliminate the food supply before you work to get rid of lizards, however. You may get rid of existing lizards, but food supply will lead more lizards to your land. So deal with the bugs in the area first, and then deal with the lizards themselves.

You may try powders and other repellents to get rid of lizards. Many of these products are non-toxic and will not harm your grass or other plants. These powders and products work to naturally repel lizards without hurting them, so that they’ll leave the area. However, you’ll need to regularly apply such repellents to make sure the lizards stay away.

-->there is an indian remedy to this, put a bunch of peacock feathers in the corner where they visit the most. they don't like the feathery touch.... they will not visit that area ever again.

---> The "Chalk" thing is called "Laxman Rekha" and is a product made in India. I guess you could try in some Indian stores in your area. Just draw with the chalk and the lizards will stay out for a while. Then do it again.

and at midnight, thier most active time! dey can even play "catching" infront of me sia =.=

my hse dun have much lizard leh.. have nt seen one in the past half yr liao.. you can prevent it by keeping the place clean lor.. so tat the lizard wun come lor..

i found lizards quite a few times in my kitchen sink. The best way, is to pour hot boiling water over it. Very clean, very shocking for them, and no mess..die quite instantly. Just pick up and throw away :biggrin4:

Actually having lizards in my house is fine with me if they fulfill their part of their 'employment contract' [eat up all those irritating & dangerous pests like mosquitoes, ants, flies etc...] & in a nice manner lah!!! :handsup:

However, wat I'm most bothered most is the fact that they have very LOOSE BOWELS!!! Really suspect if their (the lizards') parents inculcate in them at very young age, the importance of TOILET TRAINING?!?! Everyday will find their faeces everywhere in the house... (on the wall or floor...) & the most disgusting part is when these reptiles are in their HORNY season... They simply just croaked loudly as if nobody's business when they consumate their
