i only have O level pure physics background (no A level physics background at all), so i would like to seek help here to find out which university would be more suitable for me. i was from a "lower-end" junior college, and my A level results is just average.
i need to weigh out the pros and cons of the two universities in the civil engineering field, to decide which offer i'm going to take up. factors to be considered included facilities of the school, travelling distance, flexibility of curriculum, stress level, modules to be taken, practicality of the degree, employability, starting pay etc.
please do help, especially if you're studying civil engineering in either of the universities. i would appreciate if you can share your experience etc.
also, i would like to know which university would allow me to have a higher chance of going for immersion trip overseas etc, and the criteria the selection is required of.
note: it would be less appreciated if you digress from main topic (i require pros and cons, and personal experiences only)
thanks a million in advance! To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Haha I may not be the best person to give you advice, but NUS and NTU Engineering has a slightly different approach. NUS focuses more on theory while NTU is very much about practical based training as it is compulsory for all their students to go for industrial attachment.
However, as to which is better, it would depend on the individual. somebody please help? *plead* To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

and even if u consider so much factor, you wont get the exact answer here.
and NUS also got industrial attachment.
the best is get the answer from open house or visit nus and sneak into the lecture hall loh. no one will stop you from doing so. haha To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

All I can say is that you need C-maths & F-maths(Or better known as H2 & H3 maths now) as your foundation, but if you've A-level physics then it will be useful because there're MANY theory work based on physics & Of course NUS would be a better choice. Hmmm...I'm beginning to imagine OUR beautiful hooolahoop wearing that mechanic suit covered in OIL & GREASE Hee Hee... Be careful NOT to break your LOVELY fingernails when you hold the spanner. |

i have h2 math background. just worried about w/o A level physics, even though the profs. and students have assured that not much physics is involved? hmmm

Perhaps you wanna email the dept and ask them questions? Haha maybe they'll give you a very flowery view of their dept but at least u can clear some doubts
And maths is the bulk of engineering Just take the physics bridging modules and I'm sure it'll be fine GET UR VICTORIA'S SECRET, AEROPOSTALE, OLD NAVY, DAVID & GOLIATH, HOT TOPIC, JUNK FOOD STUFFS HERE! You might want to give it a try if you are interested... Most like me, gave up after working in the industry...
