Hi all, i'm new here and would like to say hi to one and all. I started bowling about a year ago and my avarage is about 160++. Can never get it any higher. By the way i'm playing hook ball. Recently my friends told me the way i'm playing is wrong and now more confuse and getting worse in my game. Is there any site i can go look to correct my bowling? Or can anyone help? Thank you!!

*ahem* Iris, since when I take over? Hahahaa... Thanks for thinking SOOOO highly of me, but too bad I'm not a coach. LOL~ Don't think I'm qualified to either... especially when the subject matter has an average which is higher than me.... LOL~

Anyway, to zappee. Surprised you started bowling only a year, and with comments from your friends that you're bowling wrongly, you can still get an average of 160+... Not too bad I would say.

Well, there might be websites with information on 'How to Bowl' in theory, but nothing beats the practical part of it. So I suggest you attend our weekly training sessions as we have a coach (Storm) on site to guide you.

I think that 160 average after one year is very good progress as it is. With regards to your friends telling you that you are bowling wrongly, I think you should let the coach assess you. It could be that you're bowling correctly, and that your friends are the ones bowling wrongly. Haha..

Bro you must be good if not nobody will recommend you la.
Anyway my avarage is very inconsistant. Sometimes can and sometimes cannot. So need to go back to basic i think.

Sometimes.. and I really mean sometimes.. It just takes a bit of time for you to get better. After bowling for some time (maybe a couple of years), your average will slowly increase. This can be due to you being more accurate after consistent bowling. But then, the max point won't be very high. That's when you will need professional guidance from experienced coaches to change certain parts of your game, eg. timing (very impt), swing and release. It can be a big wonder how much these 3 things can improve your game once you get them correct.

Thanks all for the reply. I guess it's my swing. I always fold back when doing the back swing. Can't seems to change that. And most of my friends says my body too stiff..

Sometimes it might be good to have a stiff body. Then your shoulder and hip alignment won't go off. But then you won't be able to up your power. I know someone who bowls with a stiff body. From my point of view, the only thing missing from his game is the power and rev. Other than that, I think he actually bowls quite well.

why make guesses when nobody seen how he/she bowl....
and when he/she say he/she folds his arm,what does folding mean?

its no point saying "i think" because it could be the result of some actions that make u do this....

u are welcomed to join us and let me access your problem(if u trust me) to see whats exactly the problem with u,cos when u have hit an avg of 160,are we referring to the avg of every game or accumulative avg?

and if your friends say soemthing is wrong,what and where went wrong?
