I think there will be some application done thru the MOE to let them setup private school in singapore. This is why student are lodging complaint thru MOE. Some more they are CASE registered meaning they will get some guaranty on the School fee they have paid. Just would like to see how much this time round the CASE can do for the student in getting back their school fee.

MOE better do a good job if the uni is CASE assured. Else they'll suffer big time not just with the students, but a global view of what singapore is capable of.

Well the above 2 mentioned is not the first case. There were some new media related "Qian xian" talking about this issue alot of the student suffered, esp those from oversea. They get con, lose money, no place in singapore(no student pass), no certificate. A big problem. Wondering how it would become a regional hub for education with so many incident.

None of such things would have happen if NUS and NTU open up more slots for part timer course. In some sense if SMU can do that, it would help a lot as well.

i think if they could they would... but the 3 unis have a limit you know... there are only a limited number of faculty and a limited space... where do u propose these part-time students be housed... as it is now, the unis are cramped enough....

Well if those private campus could cater for new student the 3 uni could also do expansion of their existing campus to cater for more student. They made better singapore brand. Don't believe they will just closed like that....

IT is just like investment, if these type of cases keep happening and was not controlled, i think students will plan to study overseas instead.:notimpressed2:

If the 3 sg uni open up more slots, then the school will become too commercialise and the standard of the uni might drop. Sg degree will become less valuable liao.

and it is not that easy to expand campus size eh... just look at where SMU is... even if it wants to expand, there is noy enough land nearby.. and i think the same can be said for NUS and NTU
