I found a link on a blog, which led me to an interesting, if not slightly disturbing, documentary.

Yes, its about men... and life sized dolls which they use for sex

I felt rather creeped out when I looked at how obsessive the men in this documentary were about their dolls, especially the first one. He was actually deluding himself beliving that his doll was alive and could reprociate his feelings... Creepy.

I still dont get it though, why would any guy want to throw away any chance he has of a relationship with a women for... inanimate objects? All they do is provide the person with physical pleasure. But can they console you when you feel down? No. Do they actually have personalities or little quirks which you find endearing? No. The first guy ( the most obsessive one ) actually didnt look ugly at all, Im pretty sure that if he just adjusted his own way of dressing or made a few lifestyle changes, he could go out and get a girlfriend.

Any Opinions?

Um, I mean the guys in the documentary use the dolls as sex objects, they're the life sized ones and the guys actually imagine up personalities for the dolls to spice things up.

Nothing against actual doll lovers, I was actually hoping for more of a debate on the guy's behaviors =x As they are what could be called obsessive =x

On the treating the dolls as spouses thing, I dont know, it just doesnt sit well with me, part of how I think I guess. I do apologise if my views are offensive to you =( But I just dont get why guys would give up their social life for dolls =x

I think they r sick -.- use doll as sex really despo until like that disgust by their action

to start a relationship is always simple
to build it, is always tough
to maintain it, is 'better said than done'
to break off, is 'easier said than done'
to remain friends after u broke off, is never possible
to forget the memories is 'always doing but never succeeding'

but one has to try to heal your own heart...

im not really sure if this habit / practice is healthy.. and it gives me the creeps. they could try go for counselling sessions. no offence to anyone though...

Yeah, i do understand that some people do have lasting affections for certain inanimate objects based on looks or memories. But the first and third guy in the vid were using the dolls to replace a void in their life, the lack of a woman that they could use as a sexual object or as a companion. Which really doesnt seem healthy to me at all, I mean, sure, I know some people who treat stuffed animals as if they were alive, but as a relationship partner and giving up their social life etc for it...?

Perhaps, but arent those personality quirks like a short temper or people's faults sometimes what endears us to them? I feel that using an effigy of a woman's self as a sex tool only serves to degrade women's position in relationships, as this puts forth the idea that women should always be the submissive party in a relationship, in this case, a sexual one =x
