Default FREE JAPANESE ONLINE LESSON 3 (April,20,2007)

we use sentence like wakatta = ( i got it) you know.. its really not important to use the abv.. also, the MOST of the abv doesnt comes tgt with the question. mostly when u introduce yourself to someone (e.g)

watashi wa 17 sai ijyou desu = ( im 18 yrs old)

let me explain to u clearly also

Tasukete = ( help ) *note* you might feel that **help** (tasukete) must be put in a sentence to end the question. (e.g) Tetsudatte kuremasuka = ( can you help me) it doesnt comes with tasukete.. normally when u ask a question or answer the question u really do not have to use watashi or atashi .. its really not important..

P.S sry if i explain uncleary to you, but i hope you understand what im trying to say. ganbatte..
watashi is the compressed form of watakushi which is not commonly used. watashi is a former way of saying I.

atashi (I)is for gals only.

boku (I) is for guys only.

omae (you) i think is not commonly used.

kimi (you) is use among people of the same level.

unless your command of the language is very strong it is advisable to stick to watashi at all times.

i think ore is old use for I.

game senta ni ikou = ( lets go to video arcade)

itsu hima? = ( what time are you free )

okasi = (Sweets)
okasi tabetai = ( want some sweets)

NOTE** if you want to offer someone something , u can add in
...........(food/sweets/things) tabetai = (e.g) want some coffee..

onaka suita = ( i'm hungry)

nanka tabetai = (i'd like to eat something)

mada tabetenai = ( i havent eaten yet)

tabetai = ( do you want to eat? )
**note** you can ask a friend **tabetai** whether he wants to eat or if you want to ask whether he/she wants to drink something :
Nanka nomu
= ( do you want to drink something)

Biru = ( BEER )

wain = ( WINE )

Kora = ( cola ) known as "coca cola"

ocha = ( green tea )

kohi = ( coffee )

Chuhai **means** alcoholic drinks based on shochu, a kind of japanese vodka. they come in at about 5%, in sweet and sour flavours and are easy to drink.

nodo kawaita = (im thirsty )

*note* when u enter a restaurant, pub or anywhere that sells *drinks* in JAPAN, you can reply the following as Sofuto dorinku ______ <--- (drinks).
*means* (e.g) Sofuto dorinku kora.. (COLA) ** i'd like a cola

Nihon-no tabemono-no naka-de, dore-ga ichiban suki?
= ( whats is your favourite japanese food )

shokuji dekita / gohan mada = ( is the meal ready ? )

Itadakimas! = ( Grace )
*why??*
Almost every japanese says this before eating, in almost situation. The closest English equivalent is *grace*, but it has lost its religious meaning. Dont hesitate to say this before a good meal. *WHY*? because you MAY EVEN BE COMPLIMENT FOR YOUR GOOD MANNERS. its very regonize around japan where people say itadakimas before any meal =)

At home, you welcome guest, you dont have to use yokoso or irrashimase.
you can just say Kitai
( do you want to come in) more formal.. its not nercessary to say yokoso..

yokoro is when someone your friend/relatives visits you
(e.g) your friend is from osaka and you live in tokyo. when ur friend comes to tokyo, you can say to him/her (Yokoso) = welcome to Tokyo.

Irrashimase is when you enter to a japanese restaurant, the working staff there will greet you irrashimase = ( welcome in ) a warm polite gesture. hope you understand.

*note* *very useful*

when in JAPAN, you would find it rather difficult to interact with any japanese. so when you try to speak to them in japanese **it shows the japanese that u r trying ur best to speak their languages.** JAPANESE loves to see foreigners try their best to speak their language. they loves to see you make an effort speaking their dialect.**
by the way, foreigners who speaks even a little japanese will be constantly praised in ways like this. this is just one reason its good to make an effort..

sore wa ato de hanaso = ( lets talk about it later)

nani itten-dayo? = ( what are you talking about) for girls to say
nani itten-yo? = ( what are you talking about) for guys to say

note**
"Before the conversation is about to zoom off into the realms of unpleasentness, there are a few ways you can try to lightrn the mood.
The Japanese are fond of onomatopoeias, words that itimate sounds.. haha!

Default FREE JAPANESE ONLINE *KATAKANA*

katakana : are mostly used for foreign words.
when using katakana, life gets a bit tricky when you hit the limitations of the japanese language. it has only one final consonant (n), so when the japanese pronounce English words with other consonant ending, they have to tack on a vowel, usually a (u)[b] "Game" becomes *ge mu* or "bed" becomes *beddo*
with no final "r" sound, they usually use a long "a" --- for example "locker"
becomes *rokka*. And since there is no " i " at all, " r " is used instead..

someone say if can learn free japanese online!! all the language school can close shop.. haha
