i had seen a lot of pple here postin questions about investments instruments, from f.d. to insurances, ILPs, UTs, even wine investment etc....

now it s FOREX....

mayb b4 u guys question on tat,
mayb u like to share wat kind of investor u r(risk/return profile, inv philosophies, strategies etc)....
how long u intend to invest or time horizon....
wat instruments or experince u haf done or noe of....

i realised most pple r lookin 4 tools to invest instead of makin use of the tolls to work for them....
in investment, always invest in things u r familar wz or engage someone who can help u wz all the points i had in the above paragraph.....
tis portfolio will b tailor made according to u, n tats important than shoppin ard for the tools...

I think Forex is more like trading rather than investing.

Stuff you need to learn

1) When to buy, sell and place your stop loss. (With Forex, you can choose to sell a curreny pair and close the position when the price rises). Have a trading plan. Keep a trading journal to record your profits and losses and any mistakes that you could have made or avoided.

2) Money management is also very important. With Forex, you have to deal with leverage and margin. With leverage, you can use a small amount of money to control a bigger sum of money.

3) Learn technical analysis of charts and watch out for news that could move currencies.
There are also people who trade solely on chart analysis or news. During the release of certain economic data, the forex market may get huge movement.


Benefits of Trading Forex

1) You can make money in both directions. Buy when a currency pair rises and short when a currency pair drops. Yuppie!

2) Unlike the stock market, there are only 4 major currecy pairs. (There are also other currency pairs). You can concentrate solely on 1 currency pair and study it to death.

3) You don't have to pay commissions when you trade Just need to pay the spread difference for that particular currency pair you are trading. Each pair has different spread value and the value may increase during the release of economic data.

4) Unlike stock exchange, forex is a 24 hr market. You can trade from Mon - Sat (5 or 6 am I think). So there's plenty of trading opportunities. But don't force a trade. Only trade when certain conditions are met and fulfil your trading conditions (technical analysis).

5) Demo account is available for free with most brokerage. The demo account will let you get a feel of the realtime market and the brokerage's trading platform. You won't break a leg or lose a fortune when you blow your demo account.

6) The availabilty of Leverage. Although this magnify your profits, it also magnify your losses. You should be able to adjust your leverage setting so use it wisely.

i have signed up for gracecheng's at forex power course at www.gracecheng.com.

I think she's able to provide all the things that we need to know about trading forex before we get ourselves burnt by all the false guaranteed out there.

You have to be really committed to trading before you start spending money on the courses. You will not have regular sleeping timing. You have to do your own analysis and spend alot of time catching the important news. Of cos you need to have enough money to lose first as its not as easy as said. Market is very unpredictable.

You win in trading through probability and not certainty.
So be good in it.

well i been trading wit oanda platform for abt 2yrs, doing both demo n live. wat i can recommend is really demo for a consistent time period abt 1yr, then get a gd feel of everything after that by doing live trading, i suggest minimal 3-5k usd, in addition wat i can realyl share wit u a gd book is van k. tarp - trade ur way to financial freedom, u can go grace cheng etc sites, i even bought her book, but i can tell u, its not gonna make u successful, van k tarp book is much better than wat other sites n books can teach, basically its all u n ur own system which u hav to really understand very well

Hi all, I'm here to share abit. I am inside this market for about 2yrs plus.

First I can say is forex is a very fast pace market and prices can move pretty much alot in short time (I mean in minutes or even seconds!) . So I recommend just keep clear if you think you can't handle the rate.

Second guide, forex trading is never a luck. Although you can make money on both sides of the market (uptrend or downtrend)but never use luck to trade, that can make you die terrible. Constant profits only works with the right strategy implemented not with luck.

Lastly, emotions kill! Never ever trade with emotions, keep your mind clear. Alot of newbies trade with emotions and ended up with even more losing trades because they want to get back what they lose and so they trade more.

As people thinkings are different, what works for other people might not work for you. If you find a working strategy, stick to it and you will be successful

hmmm forex again...just to know how risky it is..see how much the rate change in jus a few hrs..it can wipe ya account..i have lost abt 2k in it.. it is not that i dunno how to do it..it is jus tat u have to know when to cut it what to expect..however, no one in e world noes exactly how it wld go..its like flipping a coin nowadays..HEADS or tails..
