Question Experiences with Recruitment Agencies

Hi everyone,

what are your experiences with recruitment agencies?

For me, firstly, even if I told these agencies that I'm not looking for a job anymore, they still won't give up... keep on bombarding my handphone all day. Then, when I started work last dec with my previous company through an agent, they keep on delaying my payslip. The 1st mth was very prompt... I was even surprised by their promptness. But as the mths passed, the delivery of my payslip got later & later. Up to now, I'm still waiting for my last mth's (which was also the last mth of my contract with the agency) payslip... it's already late by think 3 weeks, which is very ridiculous. When I called them up to ask about it last week, the agent told me that they will send it asap, but so far, no action had been taken. :disgust2:

hm... i guess it depends on which agency, and the branch? i have my contacts at Kelly Services and Recruit Express, both are very efficient, i always get my pay on time, and they stop calling once i told them i alrdy have a job, or not lookin for one... however the bad thing is once i wanna look for job again, it will seems to me that they delete away my profile, and i have to go all the way down to their branch, and write the application form again

Like wat burgerboi mentioned.. not all agency are like that.. Some can be very nasty. I got no problem with any of my agency before. And i get my salary on dot. One of them when everytime i need to find a job.. i jus have to look for her and she will do her best to help me find the suitable job. Sometimes ur salary delay is not mainly the agent fault, sometimes may due to the company you work with. Maybe they delay in mailing out ur working schedule or some maybe becos the company is holding the payment that they suppose to pay the agent. Try calling the agent again and check with them

The reason for the 3mths is that period is the guarantee period for the agency. If you leave before the 3mths, they have to replace one for free.

I got no idea abt why they set the 3 mths rule, cos all the agency i went to, dont have this kind of rule. I onli get to know when my bro told me abt that.

Actually, I guess it also depends on the agent ba, not juz only the agency, since some agencies impose a sales quota on their agents every mth. Anyway, my agent is also from RE & I have to clarify that RE always pays me within 5 working days from the deadline of submitting the timesheets, as stating in the contract. I had also received my last mth's pay on time. It's juz that my payslip (which may not be of much importance to some, but it's v.important to me) is the one that is always delaying & I'm a person who condemns lateness. :disgust2:
