1st thing..in order to choose a good mlm company..find out the background of the company..is it a trading base or manufacturing based company..cos it makes a difference and also the vision of the ceo..whether cos if the ceo's vision is to make money for himself..i rather u don choose that particular company..but if the ceo's vision is for the benfit of the company..thn u can consider joining..MLM is a good business nw and in the future becos of elimation of many different levels of expense..

well the monthly fees are usually in terms of personal purchases as said by shang and there are those that do not have these monthly fees too...

anyway, for the monthly fees if you do use the companies product plus your normal consumption rate is higher than the monthly fees then it is fine... if you think that your consumption rate is less than the monthly fees then it is not a good sign and may cause you to lose money...

eg: you use 1 bottle of shampoo a month but to pay the "fees" you need to buy 2 a month then like that you most likely end up stocking up shampoo and lose money 1 bottle a month...

but if you use 1 bottle of shampoo a month and the "fees" you need to pay is 1 bottle then it is still fine since you need not stock up on shampoos

I think there is a need to clarify and conceptualise what you are embarking on.

What you are starting in the first place is a business. Which eventually make you become a business owner. Why you want to take this up may have various reasons but I feel you should consider the following factors:
1. The background of the company.
2. Financial standing of the company.
3. The company's products ie. quality, reliability, after sales, patent, compensation and etc.
4. Your team leader and members. Support and education is important here.

To start a business, you will need to be involved.
Education: If what you are invloved are health products then you will need to be hands on as an end user to experience the product, believe in the product and then able to introduce the product to others.
Finance: Registration/ Attending seminars/ Attending classes and Buying up products to use.

These are the basics and there are much more but I feel it should suffice for the moment. In conclusion, I think you should not be overly concern on the terms like MLM and Pyramid. Look at all the companies today and tell me since when they are not multi levelled and pyramid in their organizational structure. As for scams in Singapore, it is quite unlikely and slim for it to thrive. If you are not sure in taking the 1st step just attend their seminars and classes. See it for yourself.

You have to understand the background of the company and the products of the company. There are thing su need to do:

1) The history of the company ( how many years it has begun as a proof of its stability)

2) Reliability

3) Compensation plan

4) Quality and affordable products

5) Support

6) Low risk

I'm also in MLM and these are the things that I look out for. A company has to prove itself and the products and services have to be good. In addition, it must provide you with all the support needed to help you start in your business. When u start out in mlm, remember its your own networking business and nobody is supposed to force you or to meet a quota,according to my opinion. You hav opt in to have your own independence business becas you want to escape from the corporate world of office politics (guessing) and to find the life that you dream of. However, Judy, as I look upon as a friend, i have to say truthfully that in the midst of selling products or sponsoring someone, you will be rejected and also some embarassing moments e.g questions u cannot answer etc. However, its a learning process and I can also ensure you that through it, you are developing yourself and the process is rewarding. Also, your income depends on your effort and you needs to have patient. However, the greatest thing is the opportunity to share with someone who is hopeless and there you are giving them a hope of achieiving in life and bring before them the vision of their own potential in which they cannot see themselves.

My company is a global company and is listed. Investment is literally zero and the products ( homecare etc...) are top-notch and economical. We have scientists and engineers supporting us to produce products and the marketing and sales plan are fair and good. The most important thing is that you don't sell alone. My MLM business is in natural health care products with emphasis on TCM. The boss quite pro. Even set up a TCm slimming clinic at Marine Parade.

The products think you all got hear b4 is the Bai Du Mei Yuan Bao advertised by the Zheng QIn characters....i tried and they were quite effective for constipation and bloatness

How bout ATM(Alliance Teamwork Marketing)? Anyone heard about that company? They are mostly into wellness products eg health supplement called Celfood (can see link at my signature)....... Not sure for others, but for myself, I also do not need to stock up at home, so only paid members fee. ... Free and Easy I should say... hehe

with all the mlm thingy, it makes me start to believe that ppl who did networking is just trying to earn alot of money without those master degree or watsoever. but those top earner in the world isnt networker though..

Yeah, agreed. If you wanna make money, you need to learn how to sell. Be it selling yourself, selling your ideas or selling your products.
