SINGAPORE: The sick and needy elderly residents in the Kaki Bukit area could soon enjoy fully subsidised home nursing and other services under a collaborative project.
The Healthcare on the Move (HOME) Programme is a tie-up that Kaki Bukit grassroots organisations are now exploring with the Geylang Serai Citizens' Health Care Centre Limited for those with a per capita income of less than S$700.
MP for Marine Parade GRC Dr Mohammad Faishal Ibrahim shared the good news at a National Day celebration dinner in his division on Saturday.
Other programmes that were highlighted include the Learning Family Programme.
These are classes for selected needy students and their parents at various PAP Community Foundation kindergartens in Kaki Bukit.
The aim is to help these parents reinforce what the children have learnt in schools.
Partners who have been supporting the various welfare and education programmes in the division were also honoured at the dinner.
They received Friends of Kaki Bukit souvenirs from guest-of-honour Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, who is also an MP of Marine Parade GRC.
