It works fantastically for surfing the net while having coffee at starbucks, but it sure makes your work difficult when you try to do some programming... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.: Asia Solution Kenetics

Total SGC$: 372.43 | Re: Eee PC I just bought a eeepc. $598 + $79 (upgrade to 1GB RAM for Challenger members). It has builtin Linux but I changed to XP right away because as "good" as Linux goes, it can't run my windows applications. The first challenge is to install it witout a CD rom so the solution is to create a bootable XP installation disk using a thumbdrive. The 2nd challenge is to remove unnecessary windows components and files to save space. Other than that, I'm happy to have it.
Its not for everybody and it should not be compared to notebooks and desktops. For now, I use it for browsing webpages, view pictures (external harddisk), MSN, translate japanese characters (JLookup) and read comic books (CDisplay). Its light and small enough to hold with 1 hand. I use to have a b&w Besta and I plan to replace it with this (I also have an external usb writing pad which I previously bought for my desktop). |
