Don't park bikes on walkway behind Paragon!

STOMPer Mike is irritated with motorcyclists who illegally park their bikes on the pathway behind Paragon shopping centre, forcing pedestrians, particularly the elderly and young children, to weave their way through.

In an email which he sent to STOMP today (Feb 25), he wrote:

“Pedestrians walking on this pavement are blocked by the motorbikes, which are parked illegally there.

“A woman with a pram had to maneuver onto the single lane road.

“Another child was almost scalded by a hot exhaust pipe from one of the motorbikes!

“The traffic police were informed about this situation but the problems still persists.”

The STOMPer added that the people who use the walkway are mainly residents with groceries, parents with prams and the elderly with walking sticks or wheelchairs.

“I understand that there is a need for bike parking lots but not at the expense of pedestrians’ safety,” he said.

orchard area got not enough parking lots for bikes mah?

the picture really looks ridiculous... almost as if the woman was posing in a shocked manner just for the photo..

But still.. shouldn't anyhow park bikes.. Fine Fine Fine... lol

I agree that there's not enough parking for motorcycles in most areas, thus they resort to illegal parking.
But, there are some whom just anyhow park too!!
