This is a very famours urban legend which i have seen in tv, newspaper and even books... ok to make things short... its NOT true... and the reason for the sound is becoz of they have water pipes located very near to the cement surface or something. Thus, when someone in your apartment turns on the water tap, the gushing pressure from the tank will make the pipe hit the wall vigourously producing the "Marble Sound" you have described... this only occur in old hdb flat... newer one no longer like tat... or maybe some might say newer one no more marble liao... they put psp instead

i have that problem too but it's more sporadic than a usual routine. I used to get scared too but ahhh heck it, just spray some lavendar room perfume to calm me down lol

heard that the marble sound was caused becos of the structure of the building. usually occurs in HDB flats mine used to have the sound also. the engineer said is becos there a layers of air in between the floors and blah blah blah and certain factors caused the sound. so not to worry nothing supernatural!

I think its common for HDB flats.

Sounds like marbles huh? But it's really just water pipes la.
If really ghost play marble, then the one above me must be special, play basketball at midnight. Siao kia lor T.T

HDB is like that one la, my downstairs now fixing pipes, every morning 9.30 i got auto-alarm clock, the excavator start working. Dunno how sleep sia..

mine is not marbles sound..

mine is like those sharp metal object scratching against metal stuff.. making that kind of irritating sound.. not sure how to describe but is like nails against chalkboard? but is 100 times louder, i suspect is metal lol. very unpleasant sound! happened every mornin and very loud sia.. dont know what they doin

that time i hear radio, they say up at the ceiling, theres is a cement or wat so ever.. when at night, its cool and the cement or wat soever will contract.. so the "marble sound" will be heard.... if this dun happen to you den i tink your neighbour above is living with a ghost...
bcoz as i know, people who live and take care of a ghost will let the ghost play at night... at night the ghost will play with marble.. thats why... sometimes they will play marbles even at the staircase beside your house.. ((:

You mean toyol? Or something spelt like that anyway, i forgot what already. I thought only bomohs can summon/revive toyols..

But aiyah, even if really got marble loving ghost, i live so long already also haven't see anything "dirty". So i guess i'm safe ba, neva do anything chaotically wrong

I'm new here, btw rgds this crippy sound! let me share some story, tis thing happen to sister hse located at west, everynite aft 10pm sound of lady high heel footstep, marble dropping, chair dragging appear every nite for da past 4mths, my sis on 10th flr,
11th&12th is vacant still NO 1 LIVING?? tis blk is previosly rental for foreign workers, but lately vacant for past 6yrs n last yrs it sold to houseowner.....after doing research n investigation...Guess wat my fren!
