First card is Sun. relationship starts out find a good start for both a time of joy a time of refinement, a time of rebirth

2nd card is 5 of pentacles (relationship starts to have money problems for both parties)

3rd card is tower relationship may turn out for something not so good not up to the expectations of both parties.... perhaps it may come to an end....

In this case, I'd look at the position of the cards and what that position represents and relate the card to the position.

Shimure gave a good example in the previous post. Having the Sun come up in the first position means a good start. But as the future holds the Tower, the end may come quickly.

Tarot, in my opinion, depends as much upon the spread as the cards that appear in the spread. Both are equally important.

the most conflicting reading i ever got was in a 15 card spread. cant really remember the other cards, but on the top left hand corner, there was a king of swords (the person asking me is a gemini) and beside this king of swords, i had the magician and fool right beside it. totally had no idea what it means @_@ however the person said, maybe i have dual personality cause i am a gemini. lol

as for the 10 of swords and 9 of cups, i had a similar scenario but 10 of swords was in the current situation position and 9 of cups happened to be in the near future, so i thought it meant something like things will turn better and although not as good as what the person may want, at least he or she would be contented with the way things are.

i was gonna say:
It'd depend on the order of the appearance and the kind of spread you are using.
usually it signifies (like shimure the master says) it shows you a turn in events for the better or the worse.
however in my slightly unorthodox view, i think that certain cards signifies a different strength of a certain element, for example one card might mean 9/10 happiness while the other might mean 6/10. you get the drift?
This particular view point of mine allows for a more dynamic range of "movements" in the reading instead of the more rigid "yes" or "no" situations i so often come across.

i still feel empty on the inside.. i wonder why.. i hope i'm not thinking too much..

kk lets see i draw 2 cards for a person asking his romance ....i \gt the wheel of fortune (reversed) n the three of wands .....but i gt a feeling tis reading is a nt v gd 1 for his romance

If it is a yes and no spread......

and the question is how is My relationship with so and so.

The first card would normally in my case be a positive affirmation card. which is good. if wheel of fortune reversed would mean the relationship has turned for the worst.

Whereas the 2nd card would be negative....... would mean a time of wait or to have virtue or the expectations of both parties have not been met.

However drawing on the strength of both cards.... in the long run the relationship may still work out but it requires a lot of work from both parties.

The above is only my view based on the limited information in which you have provided.....

In a reading there are several factors..... the feel of the moment in which the question is asked, the body language of the querant. way the reader request the querant to ask the question and the facial expression of the querants..... all this would give the reader additional information and intuition to answer the querant's question.....

Of course the end of the day would be up to the particular reader and the answer given.......
