First off, a very Happy New Year to all on the behalf of the STAC committee!
2008 has finally arrived and the committee is working hard to bring you a new year of exciting events.

Well, it’s finally that time of the year again! Yes, the auditions for our very beloved KouHaku: Red White Anime Song Battle~ So here’s a call to the people who never fail to make our event a success, YOU. Be it as a singer, dancer or helper or an audience member, we welcome all!

Auditions are scheduled for 23rd and 24th February at Block 341 (Lam Soon CC's activity room). The nearest MRT station would be Chua Chu Kang and it’s just a short walk from there. This is a heads up for those intending to audition… Remember not to go overboard on the Chinese New Year goodies!! ;D

Singers
The Banned song list will be uploaded soon.
Note that when we say banned, we mean that you CAN sing these songs, but there is a very high chance that you will not be able to advance past the auditions unless you wow us with something special in your singing. It is not recommended unless you are already an excellent singer. Please note that the reason these songs are banned is simple. They have been sung before at previous KHK's. We're always looking for fresh songs for singers to sing. Don't just rely on the classics!

You can sing J-rock songs, but they must have been sung in an anime. "Ready Steady Go!" from Full Metal Alchemist or “Raison D’etre” from Claymore are good examples.

Bring up to 3 songs on the day of the auditions. Please note that this means you can sing from 1 to 3 songs, although the final selection is left to our discretion.



- Keep the songs in CD format on your own CD. mp3 format will not be accepted
- This isn't American Idol. We're not filming you. So do try out if you think you want to sing!
- Send an email to stacreg at gmail . com with the title "Singer for RW’08" with details of the songs you're singing, details of who you are, your handphone number, a contactable email address, and if you'd like to also be a part of the crew, why not? List us what you'd prefer to do as a crewman or woman!



Don't worry if you think you'll change your song(s) later. Sometimes singers are awesome, but the song they chose just isn't for them (I know, I know, no one wants to hear Kheldar sing Nakashima Mika songs anymore when we go karaoking) so hit up something!

For the auditions, you can bring the original (voiced) tracks, although if you are certain you wish to be singing the song all the way till Red-White, be prepared to find the backing (ie "clean", "instrumental", etc) track as well.

There *CAN* be a group dance - But unless you intend to finish your entire ensemble by the auditions, it's probably safer to gather your group and just sing first. There is nothing in the rules which says this is a one-person affair!But remember, we're judging you on singing, not dancing! (Unless you wish to be only a dancer, which is entirely welcome too)

Dancers
Don't feel like singing, but still want to be a part of the event? Why not try your hand at dancing! Simple movements, we swear.

Helpers of all sorts
Do you feel you want to help out backstage with the crew? A dance instructor? Choir?!?! Anything at all. We could definitely use your aid.

For Helpers, there is no deadline for submission, although we obviously would like to have more helpers the sooner the better! Call your friends! Please don't be afraid if your schedule is busy! By all means let us know what your schedule is like, and we'll try to accommodate so that you and us can all benefit together.

Don't forget that you need to send us an email with your particulars at the address above. Saying you want to help in this thread will not be captured in our new system!!!
