If there's no permstaff benefits, den I'd say ask got more salary.

When I started my current contract job, I was given permstaff benefits but offered a contract because my position is a new post with no headcount.

My position in the company is a newly created position. Hence they didn't have a headcount in the department for this position. So offer contract.

If you feel that there's prospects, then take the job..

Mostly now a days the company is base on the contract terms... After the contract ends either they accept you or goodbye to you.

Contract job = no gd benefits.. if wan to resign also cannot.. will have alot of problems. Especially jap company super niao.. ermmm.. So i agreed with others.. if it not a perm job.. ask for higher salary.. if u love that job.. go ahead with it. Most impt is you love or not.. cos remember u have to sign contract with them, if u dont like the job.. that will be a hard time for u.

Not all jap companies are niao. Although I'm on a contract basis in a jap mnc now and the benefits are quite good (I'm getting the same as permstaff). It's good to the extend that if I jump to another company, not many companies will be able to give this extend of benefits.

That being said, it's still important to do what you like. Many famous people have said this before. Don't waste time doing things you do not love to do. You will either not last long there, or you won't work passionately on it to produce the quality result that you ought to.

Hope this helps.

I've seen some contract staff becoming permanent staff after 1 year of performance. So normally if you go for contract position and you intend to go permanent, must work hard to performance during the 1 year period.

be it contract or perm, understand the terms of employment is the most impt.

some coy dun give contract staff benefits, eg. annual leave, medical leave and etc. but some coy treat contract staff like perm staff, just that it is on contract, may be renewal or convert to perm after the stipulated time.

if u have diploma or better still, degree, try to apply for EP/SP. coy will prefer EP/SP too, cos they can save on the levy.

today go to interview another job, is a project coordinator for ID work..the interviewer say will let me know by tomorrow...i not so interested for the job scope after interview. I have put the salary much higher also..felt the company like very keen to employed people..if tommorrow get offer, don't know i going to accept or not..i more prefer the job scope in japanese company even it is contract basic..but i worry if i keep rejected for the offer, later i have to take risk for the japanese job offer..
