confident is an aura that you give out naturally, confidence got many types. for me, i am able to differentiate confidence with arrogance, most people can.

i guess we tend to display confidence naturally.. especially when we are knowledgeable in certain areas.. when we talk, it's obvious that we know our stuff.. and we are sure we are right..

boastful.. when we are not as good as we make ourselves out to be.. but i guess soon others will realise that we are just being boastful..

humble is not the same as low confidence lah.. humble: we know we are good but we dun boast. low confidence: we dun think we are good.

I have met people who are both confident yet humble. These two personalities can be shaped. One of my early mentor is such a person. She is a boss of a multi million dollar business, yet she treats everyone the same. No air, no arrogance. Thats humility. Of coz, if she is wrong, she apologise, but when she know that she is right, she is firm. Thats confidence.

Arrogance is displayed when you dont or wont listen to others. Confident people do listen to others. Thats the difference.

Before entering the exam hall, people often ask, "How? Can you make it?"

"Yes. I can make it" - Confident?
"Of course I can make it" - Proud?
"I've read everthing single page and memorised them. Of course I can make it" - Boastful?
"I will try my best" - humble?

i guess confident is being sure of yourself, but not putting down, or making the people around you looked dumb?
