Go for the interview, ixor4. You never know what to expect UNTIL you see what your prospective working environment is like, who your prospective bosses and colleagues are and you also need to know through the face-to-face interview what kind of work you are expected to do, the remuneration, etc.

In a job interview it is NOT just for the company to assess if you're suitable. It's also for YOU to assess if the terms and conditions are satisfactory to you.

There's no need to fear going for interviews. Be observant and ask questions after the interviewer has finished querying you. Basically, the reason why interviewers want you to speak up and tell them stuff that are already stated in your resume is becos they want to hear if you can express yourself well CONFIDENTLY. So speak out, don't shout but loud enough for him/her/they to hear. Once they're done, they usually ask 'Do you have any questions?'

Ask them for details of the job...ask them for details abt the company's business (that is, if you're really interested in the job) and finally, ask about your salary, bonuses, leave days, benefits, etc.

You are not obligated to accept the job immediately. Most companies will also tell you 'We'll call you in two days' time' becos they will have other job applicants to interview.

Dress appropriately and smile a lot, ixor4. I've seen you and you do have a beautiful smile.

No sweat lah!

It is not the place, nor the condition, but the mind alone that can make anyone happy or miserable.

micxiao - yea permanent job.

Thanks for e advice MamaRos.. :biggrin4: i also think that i should go for the interview 1st before i decide. (They might not even wanna hire me and i'm thinking 2 steps ahead.. )

What is appropriate in a job interview? Different jobs different ya? Or is there a standard dress code? i've been to only one interview my whole life and i felt that i kinda over-dressed back then.. Got the job that time though.. Haha..

And normally they will say.. 'tell me more abt urself'. How do i start talking? Like, oh i'm e eldest in e family blah blah (but i'm sure they dun wanna know abt ur family life, or do they?) or do i say i'm *input age* this yr, graduated from blah blah course (but they can see this in e resume, cant they?) or straight away go to ur hobbies etc etc? :confused2:
