Chinese Astrology - Zi Wei Dou Shu

Zi Wēi Dou Shù is a form of fortune-reading that is widely used in ancient China. Zi Wēi - literally translated as Purple Star - is the 'Emperor Star' of the chart. It is known as the North Star in the West. Dou Shù means calculation.

Zi Wēi Dou Shù thus means the study of a person's life based on the movement and location of the Emperor Star Star and 100+ other stars at the specific time the person was born.

Based on one's Year, Month, Date and Time of birth - also known as Bā Zì , calculations are worked out to chart the stars into 12 different palaces or Gōng. This would then be one's Birth Chart or Mìng Pán.

By integrating the stars and palaces, their attributes, environmental factors, elemental forces, Yin and Yang concept and all the possible combinations and variations, not only can personalities be understood, but personal and professional relationships can be predicted, and what to expect of any given year and duration of specific events can be forecasted as well.

The main stars in the chart are:

The 14 Major Stars
The 4 Assistant Stars
The 6 Harmful Stars
The 4 Transformation Stars

Yup, there's a peach blossom star in Zi Wei.

The Tan Lang star is the primary peach blossom, and the second one is the Lian Zhen star. They symbolize pleasure and passion.

From what I understand, the main star in your "self" palace is important. But where your Emepror Star ends up is also just as important.

You also have to look at the supporting stars in each of the palaces, and see how they all come together. There are enhancer stars and negative stars that can affect the calculations. I'm still not 100% sure of it, and I'm still learning.

oh, my mum's frenz did zi wei dou shu for me before..
can be generated thru software too.

Yup, but I'm learning the manual way. It's pretty interesting, and I'm seeing a lot about how the year/day/time of birth affects the charts.

How many stars did your mom's friend do in your chart, if you don't mind me asking?
