but probably quicker in thinking and in planning.. it also trains ur patience and will make 1 calmer.

However, it does not make a person smarter. only more focused.

Total SGC$: 20,496.36 | Re: Does chess make one smarter? i use to play chess alot. xiang qi and weiqi in school (part of sch curriculum) and english chess (or some call it international chess) with my dad. but now, i hardly play them... yet, when i was playing chess, i don't feel like i'm any smarter. but then again, maybe is i have lousy brain... |

of the next move so they can move almost instantly without actually thinking.
There is an episode of My Brilliant Brain on Nat Geo about this.
But any thinking would probably improve your brain, so yes,
it does make your smarter.
