Changi's Budget Terminal handles 130,000 passengers monthly SINGAPORE : Changi's Budget Terminal is handling about 130,000 passengers a month, utilising close to 60% of its annual handling capacity of 2.7 million passengers.
Replying to a question in Parliament on Monday, Transport Minister Raymond Lim said currently there are two carriers operating at the Budget Terminal, and the Civil Aviation Authority is holding discussions with prospective carriers on using the Budget Terminal.
Mr Lim said passenger traffic by low-cost carriers at Changi grew by 47 percent last year. And Singapore anticipates traffic in this market segment to continue growing strongly in view of the robust demand for budget travel in the region.
Thus, Changi is expecting continued strong traffic growth at the Budget Terminal in the coming years. |
