CAR CHASE & ATTACK?
IT began with an invitation to supper and ended with a terrifying attack and car chase.

Nine friends, including a hairstylist who wanted to be known only as Miss Poh, 21, had gone to their weekly hangout - a karaoke pub in Purvis Street.
While they were there, a man at another table got a waitress to discreetly ask Miss Poh's friend to go out for supper with him.
The friend declined.
Around 2am, the group decided to grab a bite elsewhere and left in two cars. One was driven by Miss Poh's boyfriend, Mr Zhang, and the other driven by their friend, Mr Tan, a sales executive.
Mr Tan, 24, noticed a group of people who also left the pub at the same time.
He said: 'There were three men and a woman. We didn't know one of them had wanted my friend to go out with him. It was only later that she told us the man had been eyeing her in the pub.'
That group's car, a light blue Mercedes, was parked in front of Mr Tan's Mitsubishi Lancer.
As he pulled out, he claimed that he saw them go to their car and take something from the boot.
WORRIED
The Mercedes apparently followed Mr Tan's and Mr Zhang's cars as they drove past two traffic light junctions.
Miss Poh said her friend recognised one of the Mercedes' passengers as the same man from the pub. They became worried and took down the Mercedes' licence plate number.
The cars stopped at the red light at a junction near Rochor Centre in Bugis. Suddenly, two men got out of the Mercedes - one allegedly armed with a 50cm steel baton and the other with a spanner. The one with the baton allegedly smashed Mr Tan's front left window into bits.
Mr Tan said: 'My passenger got cuts to his neck, I got hurt on my left hand. There was some blood. The men were shouting and trying to open my car door.
'Luckily it was locked.'
The other man went for Mr Zhang's Suzuki Swift, allegedly hitting his windows with the spanner and leaving deep scratches.
The third man who remained in the Mercedes was the one snubbed by Miss Poh's friend.
Miss Poh said: 'It happened so quickly. We drove off and they chased us in their car.
'It was almost tyre-to-tyre.
'It was only when we reached Kallang MRT that we managed to shake them off by braking suddenly and turning into a carpark.'
The chase lasted about five minutes. Mr Tan said: 'I had to beat several red lights. I didn't dare to stop because with my window gone, they could have easily whacked my friend and I.'
He speculated: 'Their intention was not just to inflict damage on the cars.'
Mr Tan and Mr Zhang immediately made reports at the Cantonment police station that night.
About a month after the incident in March, they were asked to look at photos to try to identify the suspects.
Mr Tan said: 'So much time had passed. It was hard to recognise anyone.'
Miss Poh, who was also asked to identify the suspects in early May, said she managed to recognise one man, but there has not been any updates from the police.
She added that they have stopped going to the pub after the incident.
Miss Poh said: 'We want to highlight what happened because the police have not caught the culprits.'
The police have confirmed the incident was reported but could not comment further as investigations are still ongoing.
