A UNIVERSITY student dies after the motorbike
he was riding collided with a car in Commonwealth
Avenue West on Thursday night.
Business undergraduate Sng Seng Liang, 23, was
on his way to meet his girlfriend in Toh Tuck Road
when the accident happened at about 8:30pm.
Both Mr. Sng and the 35-year old driver of the car
were traveling along Commonwealth Avenue West
towards Commonwealth Avenue when the vehicle
collided into each other.
Mr. Sng seriously injured his head and died at the
scene at 8:40pm.
The driver of the car was unhurt. He was arrested by
the police and is now out on bail. The Traffic Police
are investigating the case.
Mr. Sng’s death is the second one in five months
in the family. His father has died in September last
year after struggling with illness fro three years.
Mr. Sng older brother, a 28-year old engineer, told
Shin Min Daily that his brother had been driving for
about a year.
He bought his motorbike to commute between home
and school after he stopped staying at the National
University of Singapore’s student hostel.
The second-year business administration undergraduate
lived in a Housing Board flat with his brother and a
52-year old mother, a taxi-driver, in Sims Drive.
