Default Bypassing the agency? Possible?

Hi, need some enlightenment here.

Is it possible to get paid by the company directly if I got the job through the agency? Is it considered breaching of any contract? This is for a temp assignment.

For I know from insider info, that the agency is only paying me half of what the company pays them. And trust me, it's peanuts.

Oh and they tried to lie their way through when I requested for a higher pay, insisting that the agency paid me whatever was offered by the company. Which is dumb to say the least, as we all know that the agency cannot possibly be a middleman for free.

If the company you working with have direct employ.. then you can try your luck.

Some company only depend on agency for workers. So it unlikely to switch to under the company.

Oh they do employ directly. But I think it might be a little unethical since they hired me after signing a contract with them Rather hard to raise the topic for me too.

if its really low.... den i don tthink the ethics really be fair....u can always tender and go direct... but tat is provided u manage to strike a agreement with the company u working for....

also depends on wat kind of sector u working for....some really do outsource ony kind

Well I think I would stick to the company and not tender since it is just a temp assignment for the moment.

Just wanna get more bang for my buck.

Just a warning to people, try to go to smaller agencies which are less famous. They don't take so much of your pay. Bigger agencies have too large a manpower to feed, thus they take more. Or it could be because they took so much from us that they have the resources to open one after another.

But I really detest those that are not upfront about it and still tried to beguile us that they are offering whatever was being offered by their client.

hmmmm... based on my experience, i think u have no other choice... if you got the job from the agency, then u must let them take a portion of ur pay... thats the standard..

but i feel ur predicament... i was like before... after that, i decide never to go to an agency again...

u have to be converted to their perm stuff lor..
if not..u're being emplyed by ur agency to work for that company..if that's not wrong..and if u wan to get paid directly without goin thru..i think it'z considered breachin.. =X

Yah... think so from personal experience & 1 of my colleague's case... both of them are similar incidents. What happened is that both of us signed similar contracts with the same recruitment agency, just that I joined the company later. During the interview with the recruitment agency, we signed a contract, which we weren't given a copy. :speechless: In that contract, there is a clause that states that we can't work for that same company after our contract ends for a period of six months. Well... the Human Resource staff of the company that we are working for told us that the recruitment agency won't check on people after their contract ends, as they have too much work that are more important than checking up people to see if that particular clause is being broken. So, we did exactly what we were told: When our agent called us to double confirm the decision made, we told them that we weren't going to extend the contract, though in reality, we are extending our stay by signing a contract directly with the company. In the end, nothing happens... life goes on as usual.

For me, the agency paid me only 2/3 of what the company was paying them. :disgust2:

& also, since that time I had just completed my A-Levels, with what I admit quite naive thinking of the working world, they duped me into believing that I don't need to contribute to CPF, but still receiving employer's CPF at the same time, for a month, since I'm still technically considered a student. That's wrong, pls refer to http://mycpf.cpf.gov.sg/Employers/Ge...yer.htm#annexa for more details. At that time, I was still thinking why are they so anxious to get hold of my student pass... now then I know the reason. After this incident, I made it a point to read through MOM & CPF's laws.

Oh no. I feel for you. I think that agencies should realize by now that it is really unfair to us employees when they are receiving payout from our hard work.
