SGC$: 13.00 Bank: 227.24 Total SGC$: 240.24 | On 8th Dec, at the bus stop located at Bukit Batok Central, opposite Block 628; my husband had tried to flagged down the Bus 985 at the above mentioned bus stop. While flagging, he was taking his Ez-Link card out from his pocket thus he did not notice that the bus did not actually stop for him despite the fact that he was already in the bus lane and was flagging hysterically at the bus. As the bus moved out of it's original location, it hit my husband's right hand causing him to feel a numb sensation till now as I am writing this email to you. Outrageously, that bus captain did not stop and check what had happened, he just drove off as if nothing has happened, leaving my husband sobbing in pain at the bus stop. Can you imagine the fact that the bus captain did not even notice that he has hit someone at the front of the bus and not to say if this accident would to happen at the back of the bus. Feeling the need to pursue this hit and run accident and to notify the bus captain about his irresponsible acts for commuters, he flagged down an oncoming taxi and gave the bus a chase despite the fact that he was already in great pain with his hand. He had managed to track down the bus at the bus stop located at Bukit Batok East Avenue 2, opposite Block 258. He went up to the bus, which was at the stationary, and knocked frantically at it's front door, hoping that the bus captain would open the door. To his horror, the bus captain just gave him a dirty glance and disregarded the presence of my husband and all those knockings on the door, he just accelerated and drove the bus off the bus stop, putting my husband in a dangerous situation the second time! Is this how your company driver's should behave; by rejecting commuter who wants to board the bus? Even if my husband is a normal commuter, shouldn't the bus captain stop and allow the commuter to aboard the bus at normal circumstances when he already standing at the door and to the extend knocking on the bus door? Fuming with anger, my husband called up Choa Chu Kang Interchange and narrated what had happened to him to the person whom had picked up the call. Together with my husband, we had made a trip down to Choa Chu Kang Interchange and spoke to the in-charge Mr. Lee regarding the matter. He has acknowledged the matter and suggested my husband to visit a doctor and get a thorough medical check on the injured hand before calling or emailing your company. On the examination of the doctor whom my husband has consulted, swellings and bruisings were noted over the ulnar aspect of his right wrist and the range of movement of his hand was restricted more than 50%. And due to the fact that my husband is a hairstylist, he was granted 3 days medical leave on the above diagnosis and was told to go back on follow up basis. Because of the recklessness and negligence of your company's bus captain of bus service 985, my husband is forced to put his work aside and because he is holding to a commission based job, is your company going to compensate the loss of income incurred during his medical leave and days that he is unable to go for work due to the injuries in future? If the impact on the hand would have cause him permanently loss of ability to hold a scissors and thus causing him to lose his job, is your company going to financially support our family and our unborn whom is coming to the world the next month? Who will compensate the time and money we have spent unnecessarily at night on your company just because of your irresponsible driver? ![]() My Blog: To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. SGC$: 516.25 Bank: 472.19 Total SGC$: 988.44 | This is indeed ridiculous. It's a sad situation but I have to admit that there are plenty of such drivers nowadays. I've no idea why but I do believe that it is the company utmost duty to carry out the necessary trainings for their drivers and to prevent any minor or so mishap. I'd suggest that you have to pursue the matter.. and best is to find witnesses. Reason being, I'm just afraid that they'll basically find excuses and just not compensate. What a incident! ![]() |
