when u are a beignner a normal polyester ball package will be suffice
we talk about other type of balls when u have gained some consistent scores cos the higher range balls might be too aggressive for u to control

just go to any bowling center pro shop and get it done will do

recommended ball wight is 10% of your full wieght in pounds
meaning if u are 150lb,your recommended wegiht would be 15lbs
but thats only a general rule

try 1-2lb heavier than your houseball will do
for drilling if u wanna learn hook ask him to drill relax finger tip for you,so u dont need to replug the ball if u drill full fingertip,cos my students,i save them on their costs by giving them relax finger tip from the start

normal polyester package we would be looking at the white dots(columbia300),tzone(brunswick),maxim(ebonite)
all are the same just from different manufacturers only

im arnd 188lbs. then when i go play for leisure i normally is use 11pound ball. easier for me. anddddd my ite got bowling cca! muahaha. gonna joinnnnnnn~

hmmm.... you're 1.8m and above tall, and weigh 188 pounds, and you're carrying a 11-lb ball? aiyoh..... can go straight to 16-lb liao lah! hahahaa.... jus kiddin'.

perhaps you can try 13 or 14-lb for a start lor. when the ball is drilled to your hand specification, it will be easier one.

i used to play hook when i started bowling... started with a 13-lb, and eventually moved to 15-lb.... i'm only 1.6m tall, and weighed 105lb then. of course, now i'm a spinner... hehehe....

yeah im somewhere arnd 1.8m. 11lb and 12lb (from yishun safra.so i dunnoe whether the lbs are standard or rojak 1) are my type of balls. easy and lighter so got more power. 13 very very heavy leh @.@ i very very weak. LOL

alamak! 12-lb you say easy and light, then 13-lb you say very very heavy..... aiyoh! do you know that one pound is equivalent to only 0.4536kg, or 453.6 grams??? hahahaha.... so the difference between a 12-lb and 13-lb is only that. it's all up in the head lah dude....
