Total SGC$: 19.00 | bowling ball weight check for ladies bowler Hi all,
I need some advise on bowling, my gf currently holding a 10lbs topical storm and wants to get a heavier ball. She is abt 41kg, standing at 1.63m and dunno wat is the optimal weight for her. As from what i know if got proper swing the ball weight will not be much of a problem but wat is the recomended weight? She is a hook bowler and avg 130. Bowled for abt 4 months, bowl abt 5 time per week and is a hooked bowler.
Thanks all |

Thanks all | | | | | Just for your reference, I started off getting a 12lbs tornado. Then after abt 1-2 months moved on to 14lbs mega idol and now a 14lbs rapid fire. I'm 163 and weigh 46kg. Have been bowling for abt 6 months. also playing hook.
I had abit of difficulty switching from a 9lbs to 12lbs initially. but after trg I think I got the hang of it (as in the swing) and I can easily handle a 14lbs. So I guess weight shouldnt be a big prob with the correct techniques bah. As for the other qns, we wait for the certified ppl to ans you. Heehee..just sharing my personal experience and comment only. Thanks all | | | | | she's rather skinny. perhaps she may want to think about using a 13-lb ball for a start? 14-lb might be the desired weight eventually, but since she's only been bowling for 4 months, i don't know whether she can handle the sudden increment from a 10-lb to a 14-lb.
if she's really serious in bowling, and wanna bowl competitively in future, then yeah.... 14-lb would be ideal in my opinion. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Arsenal: Ebonite Angular One & Hammer Black Widow Bite |

Total SGC$: 2,981.74 | Re: bowling ball weight check for ladies bowler ermmm...why jump into the weight issue when none of u guys seen her bowl yet?
my main question would be...
how is her posture?
what is her bowling style and such...
weight of a ball is nvr an impt component as compared to how she is bowling on the whole...
if a person can hold a grocery bag around 10kg and carry it and walk for 15min or so...what is a 7.5kg(15lb) ball when u are only holding it for less than 1 min per frame?
get what i am trying to say??
with the proper technique of bowling...any weight also can use as long as the fit is right...
wrong techinque of bowling even if give u a 8lb ball u will also feel heavy....
some pro shops will recommend 11lb cos after 3months they will tell u 12lb and the process go on till u reach 15lb....
so its up to u to decide what kind of budget u wanna spend on it...
if u dun have a good budget,i suggest u shelf off the idea of getting a new ball, spend the money intended for a new ball and get professional training then when ready, talk about buying a new ball....
cos with proper technique...its just a matter of getting used to the weight of the ball..... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
