Total SGC$: 135.87 | Basic knowledge required before buying a WII I wonder why there isn't any sticky for WII.
Anyway, would someone be so kind to provide me (and those who are interested in getting a WII) some basic information on WII itself. Like what are we supposed to look out for, price range, modification, firmwares, useful sites, etc.
Thanks in advance ya!
P.S. A sticky for recommended games would be very much appreciated too!

As for sticky, maybe the mods will like to add sticky to some interesting threads.
Maybe you'd like to scroll through all the posts (recent 2008 threads) and see if any item interests you.
Cheers!

Pertaining to eriffej qns..
1. For myself, friends and nephews. So if I don't have time to play I can pass it to my friends.
2. <$450
3. Full of electronics? EHhhh.. How does it define as full of electronics? I don't have a HD tv (wonder does it affects the game play) but I have a sound system so..
Actually I'm just doing my homework on WII before my bf buy it for me at the end of the year. Checking out the price pattern and the packages available now. Hopefully, by the time he gets it for me, the mods will be more stable.
Btw, eriffej do you own a shop selling WII or something like that? o.O

With proper care, you can use the lens for a long, long time to come. The initial batch of wii consoles (during wii's initial launch have this issue). I guess the current batch of wii consoles are rather safe to buy. Wow! US set for 1 week warranty, why not try getting local set? |

The wii does not function or behave like a PSP. It's a whole new total different platform from the PSP. Latest wii console firmware 3.3 (E/J/U) blocks the first Twilight hack...
Changing of language from JAP to English, is not possible as yet.
Cheers! |

hmm i'm ultra busy, but i saw that you said "at the end of the year" LOL. by then i dunno what will be changed and unchanged..
there's no need for a super tv as wii's graphics is only 480p. juz have a relatively sized tv so that you need not squint so much when trying to point exactly on the screen... soundwise, good to have, but not a necessity.

Help me pls! | | | | | once you mod the wii, the only way to unmod it is to unsolder the chip... not like PSP, there's no soft mod option available yet.
so what are you playing on your jap wii?

so what are you playing on your jap wii? | | | | | Hey, when i got the wii, i got Table Tennis from Rockstar, Wii Sports, RE4, PES 2008, Red Steel, Splinter Cell Dbl Agent & Dave Mirra BMX Challenge.
Table Tennis from Rockstar is sweet but Dave Mirra & PES 2008 turns out otherwise
For a person who has PS1, PS2 & PSP, i would say these genres of games would suit better with playstation controllers or I would have to say I am still not used to using Wii controllers.Wat say you? |
