Default Baby's head cut during caesarean, says mum

Really freaked out when I saw this report. :freakedout: Really unprofessional of the doctor:disgust2: :disgust2:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

SEREMBAN - MS NORAZIAN Yaacob's joy at giving birth to a daughter turned to horror when her husband discovered a deep cut on the back of the girl's head, the New Straits Times reported.
The 27-year-old housewife claims the cut was inflicted during the caesarean section and now wants to sue the hospital.

The operation took place on the evening of March 8 and Ms Norazian was told about the cut the next day by her husband, Mr Ruzaimi Mahadi.

'When my husband met the doctor who performed the operation, she told my husband that the cut could have happened while the baby was still in the womb,' she said.

But her husband told the doctor this was impossible as the cut looked like it was caused by sharp object.

'Only later did the doctor say that she was not sure how the cut could have happened and that it was possible that it had happened during the operation,' she was quoted by the NST as saying.

The baby was discharged from the hospital a few days later but because she would not stop crying, her parents took her to a clinic on March 14, where they were told the cut on the girl's head was infected.

They took the baby back to the hospital, where three doctors - the doctor who had performed the operation, an obstetrician and a paediatrician - told them the cut would heal on its own.

But it did not, and the wound subsequently had to be sutured last month.

The couple are now considering legal action against the hospital and have also filed a police report, NST reported.

quite dangerous sia lucky nothing serious happen to the baby

to fall in love is always easy
to start a relationship is always simple
to build it, is always tough
to maintain it, is 'better said than done'
to break off, is 'easier said than done'
to remain friends after u broke off, is never possible
to forget the memories is 'always doing but never succeeding'
to heal the pain within is hard and tough and never near simple
but one has to try to heal your own heart...

When I was born, I was dragged out with a thong.

And so, given that the skull is still soft at that time, there is a tiny dent at my forehead that existed till now. Not very noticeable but still it's there!

Sigh.

Anyway I don't think they should blame the doctors totally. An operation isn't easy and in the nick of the moment to save the baby, it could be a slight accident that was overlooked. After all, he is serving mankind and performing a service. I don't really think it is due to negligence. Just more of careless-ness which can't really be blamed.

this i cant agree... the post-treatment given by the hospital apparently seems very badly mishandled

Agree with sex-on-heels, anyway newborn babies their bodies are like kueh lidat. So soft and fragile. Minor oversight could happen during surgery...but lucky the baby is still alrite.

seeing this from the parents' point of view, i can't blame them for wanting to sue the hospital. afterall, its their baby girl who was cut. n frankly speaking, i believe tt the doc will have to take part of the responsibility also. imagine tt the lives of so many babies are in ur hands. u're being trusted to make sure everything is ok, before n after the babies are born. if u say tt its carelessness, parents will not trust u anymore. granted the fact tt docs will usually try their best, we've also heard of cases where doc's negligence led to the death of ppl.
