aurora borealis (northern lights)

i guess alot of ppl heard b4 the northern lights. its real name is called aurora borealis. in the southern part of the country, they do have the lights. but they do not have english name for that. they named it as aurora australis. but the aurora australis not as beautiful as the northern lights. its a natural lights that caused by the collision of charged particles (e.g. electrons), found in the magnetosphere, with atoms in the earth's upper atmosphere. as they collide with atoms of gases in the atmosphere, the atoms become energized. shortly afterwards, the atoms emit their gained energy as light. its normally seen it as green and yellow. but the light do have other colours. ^^ and the lights is actualli moving around. u can click on the video link and see it urself! =DD

That's beautiful!!!! My hubby and I are thinking of going on a hol in the Scandinavian...to see the northern light (hopefully able to) next yr.... No tour agency has a package that includes a Northern Light sighting..so i suppose we have to make our own arrangement.

Northern light can also be seen in Alaska and a little part of US.

i think northern lights can only be seen during dunno which season. so i think its hard for tour agency to package this type of tour. but i love to see the northern lights myself 1 day! hahahax. and hope u will able to see the northern lights urself too! =DD and have a romantic night with ur hubby! hahax. :biggrin4:

hahax. im not. im part of tourism student. so i get to know things around the world which i didnt get the chance to see it myself. =(( lolx.

Northern Lights is visible during winter months, when the night is long. Some said the active months are from Sept-Oct and Mar-Apr.

Wonder if any one here have seen the actual one...so that can share his/her experience, pixs and info.
