What constitutes to being an attention seeker?

is it someone who always wants to be in the limelight?

or is it someone who always seems to be caught in negative situations that require other people's attention?

are people who seek attention suffering from some kind of lack of attention from their parents when they are young? (this one is psychologically linked)

I am quite interested to know how all of you think, please enlighten me.

do extreme actions/ things.
making their presence well known like plague.

attention seekers are ppl who like to be in the limelight... whether positive or negative. im guessing that they have often been neglected, thus have to make up by constantly attracting attention by doing silly / extreme things.

everyone will have their ways of attention seeking..but to how much, that depends very much on an individual..
some goes to the extreme whereas some are contented where they are..
the extreme cases are like those, who try as much as they could to fit in to a group / topic / discussion but failed miserably but never gives up and put on more antics to gain attention..
in hospital wise, the patients will like to press call bells ever so often..haiz..
