Default Anyone got Life-after-death Experiences? here the report below and just to share

Occasionally the news media report the story of someone who supposedly came back to life after he or she had died and returned to consciousness to relate the incident. Sometimes these happenings seem truly remarkable and appear to contradict the many biblical passages describing death. How can that be?

The basic premise of these accounts is that the people describing their experiences actually died. True, many of them were declared "clinically dead." However, as with life itself there is much that medical science has not grasped about the nature of death. Doctors and scientists do not agree on exactly what constitutes "death." Some people, for example, may be brain-dead or comatose while the rest of their body functions for years. Others whose hearts or lungs have stopped have been successfully resuscitated with no permanent ill effects.

In the Bible death is described as a state of total unconsciousness devoid of awareness, knowledge or perception (Psalm 6:5; Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10). If we accept the Bible's description of death, we realize that those who returned to consciousness or were revived and later related their experiences were not really dead but in some unconscious state. Some vital organs, such as the heart, may have temporarily ceased functioning, but not all brain activity had stopped.

Researchers have found that the human nervous system and brain operate largely through electrical impulses. The brain requires blood and oxygen to properly function, and when breathing or blood circulation is impaired the brain begins to malfunction. If these functions are interrupted long enough, the brain eventually ceases all activity.

Some researchers conclude that the unusual sensations, including lights and sounds, reported by those revived after being clinically dead can be attributed to malfunctions of the nervous system and brain brought about by the shock to the body brought on by nearly dying.

err when did this become a very religious post?
n i believe weiming is entitled to have his own opinions, if he doesn't believe in things, we can't flame him just becoz of tt.
as for life after death, i can't say tt i've experienced it lahz.. sometimes scientific knowledge can't explain certain things tt happen.

this post became a religious post when he quoted the bible in this thread starting post and is it wrong if i were to ask him wat are the pov of other religion since he quoted the bible?

his posting "other religion got their believe but most of it turn out to be totally fake"
changed to " i believe in all the religion and got their believe and trusted"

see the 4th posting of this topic to know what i am referring to

if he is not in any religion on what basis has he got to make the sentence "other religion got their believe but most of it turn out to be totally fake"

this is a total disrespect to all religion espcially if its comging from somebody who claims to be a non-religion believer,
so may i know is this considered a flame by me if i am just pointing out his mistake?

and i still ask him to think carefully if this was the reply he wants to give....dun jump the gun if you never see the original posting carefully.

he can edit his posting but he cant edit my quote unless u wanna be unreasonable and say i edited the quoting

i posted my queires at 4.40am why did he hafta edit it at 4.50am?

and may i know if this is not wrong why did the thread starter edit his post to another sentence of another total diff nature?

no doubt everybody is entitled to their pov including you and me but than we hafta be tactful when it comes to quoting and answering, its mostly due to such irresponsible actions of posting/talking without going tru the brains that causes problems and such

okok dun be so angry over this, calm down.
if he choose to flame other religions, take it tt he's immature lahz. y get so bothered abt it?
yah i noticed the changes made before i typed my 1st posting in this thread, but i never really cared abt the quote he gave from the bible, coz i myself is a free-thinker, so whether he himself believes in other religion or not, it doesn't really matter to me.

i believe what you are talking about is not a life after death experience, but rather a near death experience here.

from wikipedia in chrono order of how it feels typically
1. A sense of being dead.
2. An out-of-body experience. A sensation of floating above one's body and seeing the surrounding area.
3. Pleasant feelings, calmness. A sense of overwhelming love and peace.
4. A very unpleasant sound/noise is the first sensory impression to be noticed (R. Moody: Life after Life)
5. A sensation of moving upwards through a tunnel or narrow passageway.
6. Meeting deceased relatives or spiritual figures.
7. Encountering a being of light, or a light (often interpreted as being God or another religious/divine figure).
8. Being given a life review.
9. Reaching a border or boundary.
10. A feeling of being returned to the body, often accompanied by a reluctance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near-death_experience

and about ur comments on religion. perhaps you will try to be more careful in choosing your words. it is after all a very sensitive issue

the ability to dream is a great privilege. never give it up
