Haha ! This quote is classic.

Godlike Foreign students. But are you sure they are only godlike and not holy shit ..

Anyway, EEE is the biggest faculty in NTU and yes it do have alot of foriegners( probably the most compared to other faculty)

Its the place where all the China and Indian people gather and yes they are really damn godlike and to the extent of holyshit.

China people are well known to be damn hardworking in NTU. They can study 10 hours straight in the study room.

Indian people are well known to be smart people. They can understand concepts well.

These are the people who always push the bellcurve to way way way up the standard and i am always the one at the bottom of the bellcurve

As for whats the entering criteria for JC students to NTU Engineering.

It greatly depends on the yearly intake of the Uni.

Take for example last year which is so called the dragon year, alot of people enrolled in NTU and even thoso with good grades like AAB need to be put into waiting list too.

In general, NTU engineering is not tough to go in as the intake cohort every year is very big.

The year when i entered NTU, my JC grades are like only BCC.

So sometimes it depends greatly on luck to see how many people are competing with you for that seat in NTU.

A JC student who enters into NTU will all go into common engineering first in the first year and after that they will choose their specialization. Be it EEE, MAE, MSE, CSE.

Sometimes, Things just happen that are out of your control.

How godlike or beyond godlike are they?

eg. last yr, my friend(MSE) took a Physics 1 CA and he got a fail(~20/100).. the whole local cohort(~0/10 to 50/100)... HOWEVER foreign students got passes and even a few gotten a fullmark.. OWNAGE!!! - end up the whole cohort has to re-take test.. not sure maybe too large a difference in marks

then a few weeks later.. the school have a Mentoring Scheme where students can go for some "lessons" and to my surprise i was told by my friend that the "lessons" are held by a few foreign students of the same yr (those full-marks).. and they can answer almost all the questions the local students asked.. they are wicked sick..beyond godlike~ too pro

well... depends what you think "do pretty well" means... I usually mean getting B+ and above ba... Which would mean at least 2nd upper... (which is pretty well right?)

Welcome to the club....

Prepare to work very very hard when u study in EEE....

Always stay ahead of the lectures and do your tutorials!

For those poly direct 2nd year, its a quantum jump from what you learnt from poly... Ask questions during tutorials and make sure you attend all your classes... No more slacking....

Work hard and stay on the bell curve!
Good Luck!

IMO even if its not popular .... its perfectly okie.... EEE opens up lots of opportunities.. and i think employment opportunities are good. ask around... engineers probably tell u that too.

Yup,

Electrical Engineers are well sought after many different companies... Some continue on in electrical industries, and some go into financial i companies.... Well versed in problem analysis, the ability to draw conclusions and solutions to problems.. and formulate equations!!

Haha, EEE is one of the most versatile degree, and becos it is the most versatile, the scope of study is broader and more complex...Thats why it is tough, as som subjects doesnt interest you at all...
