The best is still through word of mouth. Especially for IT services, which is kind of difficult to market... place an advertisement on yellow pages, for a first. Is your company a store? You can give out flyers nearby, at places with higher traffic.

IT services include web design, content management implementation, process management implementation...that kind of thing...

Apply for online listings/directories, maybe? Get a .com to make a website, for easy searching.

Online marketing will be the best channel for you. Advertising in reknown IT forums may help too.

Since there's web design, the company's website is their best marketing tool. When you can do your own site well, people will then trust theirs in your hands.

I noticed this thread so I thought I share some ideas.
A powerful method you may like to try is through Article Writing and Submission.

Basically, write a 500 word article about your business and submit
it to around a 100 article directories. As for the latter, consider using
an automated submission service to save time.

First of all you need to know what kind of customer you are trying to attract. After determining your prospect customer, second steps is to let them know who you are. Web designing or providing web solution company are everywhere in the market. How to make yourself shine out of the crowd? Of course you need to get yourself into their list What I mean here is to let them know who you are, and your company profile, portfolio, testimonial, contacts and your salesperson have to be easily accessible. Customer won't ask for more from you if they lack of your company information, unless your company name already strong enough.

Of course many company nowadays provides more than enough information to be accessed by their prospect customers. Hence you need to make your company shine out of the other company. Putting out the big customer that you have, and show your prospect customer. This would definately help to boast your company reputations. As customer, they would always go for more reputable company instead of the other to avoid troubles. Is just like product on the shelf in supermarket, product branding is important.

The another important point is, you must always understand what your customer needs and what your customer wants. Big company would have their own desired budget, and most of the time, they won't go far from their budget. Hence not necessary cheaper offer would win the deal.
