i noticed quite a lot are like that. Some even resort to borrowing to tahan until pay day or when they receive their allowances.

Let's hope no one resort to naughty means like i did once when i was in primary school. I took $$ from my dad's wallet to buy chocolate
The thing is why pple dun even put aside at least $10 a month to save for a raining day. Do not under estimate the wonder of jus putting aside a measly sum of $10. It does come in handy when you are in a fix.

Or is it you do save. But the trouble is you cannot keep yourself from dipping into your savings all the time. In this case, saving is as good as LPPL.
Then you should force yourself to save. Enrol in saving scheme like the Save-As-You-Earn (SAYE) by POSB which would deduct a fixed sum from your pay into your saving account. You cannot touch the saving or risk losing all the interest. You can opt to save for 12mth or more.

For working adults like us, we do simple financial plannings. We already know how much we are going to take home in our pay. We also know how much fixed bills/expenditure we going to be be paying and thus setting the $$ aside.

The balance are variables and would decide on how we going to live for the rests of the month. In good times, we drink at Starbuck and eat at Mac. If not, drink kopi-o and eat pratas lor.

As for luxuries and non-necessities, spend only if you have accumulated or save that $$. If you want to borrow, make sure you pay back. If not, you are worse than a scum.

Erm, I'm still a student. But I save to spend. That's why I'm always broke. The few hundred dollars in the bank is just too tempting!

And yes, If I got the ability to spend, I will. If I don't have the ability, I will not. I will just start saving, so I will have the ability to spend in near future. haha. that's the benefit of being a student. haha.

as for me, i always standby at least $50 in my wallet and had never been broke before my pay day cos i manage my finance quite well..
