Advice on Photoshop. - Singapore's Online Community

I don't know how to use Photoshop. Normally, Photoscape is a program I would use for editing pictures but somehow, it is limited with its editing features. I am diverting my attention to photoshop but the problem is, Photoshop is almost a complete set of photo editing software, due to this, I don't know how to use the complex Photoshop program.

Therefore, I request to seek advices or help from the SGC here. Be it be creating images, editing pictures, or other skills. I really do want to learn about it. PM or post here if you have any knowledge about it. I am good in my camera skill, but not good in my editing skill. I appreciate any help given by anyone here! Thanks.

maybe u can learn from youtube how to edit pictures and such . youtube got alot of professional down there .

1st, try to lay ur hands on the software.. then try and err!

i spent more than a yr (or maybe even 2?) learning how to edit photos.. think abt wat u wanna do with ur photos and try different ways to achieve that effects! for eg, i wanted to collate photos. i didnt know how to use photoshop then.. so i inserted the photos into ms words, as well as the text.. then print screen.. and paste into paint! tada! done! but the quality was compromised.

so i asked a fren how to collate the photos using photoshop.. and she really ONLY told me (vaguely) how to do it.. but still, i managed to figure out how to do it based on what she said.. so i still gotta thank her A LOT for it! LOVE HER SO MUCH!

with this new knowledge, i started working ard with layers.. then tried out different effects / features.. last time i could actually spent more than an hr just to edit 1 photo! and it's just SIMPLE editing lor! but with more practice, i'm much, much faster now.. phew!

if u just say, 'teach me how to photoshop'.. i honestly dunno where to start teaching. cos with photoshop, anything's possible! well, almost. and besides, my photoshop skills are not that great. i cant do very fantastic editing.. if u read my blogs, i only do simple editing to my photos like adjusting the image color, contrast, add captions, crop.. etc.

mainly it's my creativity (i.e. the photos i took, the captions i inserted) that allows ppl to see the story behind my photos.. the photoshop thing is merely an tool to compliment my creativity. ^^

so the faster way to learn.. thrash it out on ur own.. if there's certain SPECIFIC parts u dunno, then ask.. and continue to explore the features.. and ask again if u are stuck.. eventually u'll be pretty good in photoshop liao!

if u want smth bad enough.. and u work hard enough to achieve it.. most of the time u'll get it. even if u dun get the exact thing, u'll still get something close to wat u initially want.. if u are lucky, u may even get MORE than wat u had expected.

first of all, know what you want first from the software, diff artists use this software to do diff things.

I think that totally wrong. For beginner its very hard to understand the tools yourself.

Google yourself some basic tutorial to learn how to use the tools first. Then find a specific tutorial on wat u goona do AND then trash it out your self to find the best way that suits u.

alot way to learn..the best out of all is go lib borrow a book and read it up, den try to play with it on ur own.as in they dun try using it, learn frm ppl is hard to get use to it..

it's hard, it's not impossible. it took me more than a yr.. but i managed to learn it eventually.. still not very pro in it though! >.< but i'm still practising and exploring to see what new stuff i can do with photoshop.

i believe if there's a way, there's a way. if u want smth bad enough, and u keep working harder and harder to achieve it.. 1 day u'll get it. even if u dun get the exact thing u want, it wont be too far from ur initial goal.^^

but then again, u may have a point.. cos i may not be good in IT.. i do have some tiny weeny bit of IT knowledge.. so maybe that's why i could learn it by myself. for those who is super weak in IT would probably have problems doing it bah.

For me I anyhow click can already.
I now can edit a person's face to flawless, change the figure so on blah blah blah.
But not the lightings stuffs. =(

k basically it depends wad u wana do in ps...if u wana do editin den search 4 editin tuts...

if u wana do vector arts or wallpapers den u shud search 4 those kinda tuts.

i wud recomend playin wif e tools and filters 1st to get e hang of things.

mayb try makin sigs b4 movin on 2 other stuff?
