Think I'm gonna take up ACCA Level 1 during its July 2007 intake, cos my A-Level results aren't good enough to be admitted into NUS/NTU/SMU accountancy course, so ACCA is my next option, as it is widely recognised in the accountancy line, although it's a professional qualification. :shifty3:

loonshi, nothing is easy in life. I'm currently working in the Finance Department doing accounts related stuffs. A lot of my colleagues are studying ACCA part-time & they are doing quite well. I think it's a matter of discipline if you wanna do well. & also perhaps, your friend may already have other more important commitments. Anyway, I've heard that Level 2 is the killer level... a lot of people failed that level many times, so sorta stuck there... can't go up, can't go down. :shifty3:

Erm... you mean FTC Kaplan right? By the way, which level are you enrolling?

Anyway, I'm also taking part-time studies & will most probably choose FTC Kaplan. I got an ex-colleague currently studying there... said that it's quite good, but the class is quite big (100+ students). :cry3:

Same here. :biggrin4: Erm... I'm not sure abt the price, but I suppose it'll be more expensive, since it's 1 of the only 2 tuition providers who have attained the premier plus status in Singapore. For me, location is an important factor if I'm taking night classes... don't wanna spend time travelling. So, I'll be finding an accounts related job somewhere near town area. Anyone here with job lobangs? :biggrin4:

So I suppose the lecturers from FTC Kaplan are better than those from SAA right? Cos I'm planning to enroll with FTC Kaplan for its ACCA's full-time classes during its July 2007 intake... scared later make the wrong choice. But frankly speaking, different people will have different opinions on the lecturers' teaching. Haiz... best is to attend their lessons personally & experience it for yourself.

Hmmm, that's kind of prejudice isn't it? Afterall we attend lesson to learn, not to choose who are around us...

I'm taking ACCA at SAA/FTC. Just finished exam for paper 2.4, 2.5, 2.6. I've compared both schools and I find that not all lecturers at FTC are great. I would say Saminathan at FTC is good. As for easier papers like 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, I recommend SAA since cheaper and have great lecturers like Tan Mee Ling & an indian lawyer (sorry forgot his name). P2.6, I'll recommend philip woo from SAA. (my favourite lecturer)

As for P2.4 & 2.5, i find Sami from FTC better tho people say James Kwan from SAA good. [ I've attended both lecturers lessons and I find Sami is more focused while James is more thorough. ]

For those of you taking ACCA/CAT exams, NTUC CertCentral delivers Computer-Based Exams (CBE). For paper-base exam, you can only take either in June or December but for CBE, you can take anytime, depending on the seats availability. You will know the result immediately and it will be uploaded to ACCA UK the same day.
