I've always admire people who can sketch B&W for human portraits coz i dun have dat kind of patience!!! Haha!

Anyway I think u did great for minute details like the hair (i like the boa pic) and eyes....But I also noticed most of ya drawing is half body portrait which you seem to be more confident at. Coz for the "Seductress" drawing, I think you need to take note of the woman's body contour...coz woman's waistline not so high wan...shld be at the hips area....And I feel that for full body drawing, the hardest is to make the body seem proportionate & natural...Well, just my opinion.

shingshing: thanks! yep i'll work on the full body one after i am done with my current drawing with the mermaid character. i do feel inspired to draw out a full body concept as part of the nest drawing i'll do more analyse and looking around about human proportions

i'm back with a small update. you guys might notice i made some changes in the eyes ( and shifted the viewers right eye more seemingly to left ), shaped her mouth more and nose. i've already added shadings and reshaped her face abit more blah blah. i brag too much on these stuff anyway haha. sry. i took the picture of this drawing in my room. there is a graphite glare ( reflection ) spanning from the leftside. and the rightside of the drawing is abit too dark making darkness in both eyes differently weird .i still have to shade up her ear. hope you all like the changes so far.

( here is the current and previous wip. the blurrer one is by cam phone while clear is from scan ( 2 diff wips ) )

cute-gf: thanks i have been drawing since really young.. but all those years doesn't count. i only did serious drawing like maybe Nov or Dec last year, but realistic drawings would be 3 yrs plus le. but it dosen't matter how long have you been drawing. time isn't the limit of getting good. understanding of techniques is a great deal for drawing portraits, but i'm not too fond of totally drawing from references.

thank you! i joined an art forum, then that time i posted my drawings up and people gave critques like try to draw darker to boost the contrast of my drawings and improve on proportions. then i slowly figured out certain techniques and ways to improve. i also got inspired by afew artists and therefore it spurred me to want to draw and have a aim in art. so its both ways, ownself and influence by other artists.
